Anyone found the meat to dry out? Dont know if im chopping it up too small, perhaps i should be using full cuts? Chicken today was super tender, but was quite dry :/
Was lush bar that.

Meant to ask, I've got shitloads of cauliflower down the allotment, does that work in these or would it just be mush after several hours?

I'm making one in the slow cooker this week, ingredients I'm using are:
Onion, garlic, fresh red chilli, steak, red and green bell peppers, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, chilli powder, kidney beans, baked beans, oxo cube and a bit of seasoning

Simon, if you dont cut it too small and be careful if you stir it should be ok
Mark, not had problems with meat drying out
Could try sealing it first? (fry the outsides in a pan)
Doug, cook the mince first then stick it all in the cooker and either low for 8 hours or high for 3-4

Right I'm giving stew another go tomorrow.
What's best way for me to do it, would you cook for 10 minutes tonight then throw it in and turn on tomorrow or would you just cut everything up, throw it in tonight and just turn it on in the morning?
I feel a bit funny about the second one, would it not all go off sitting uncooked overnight?

My cooker came Friday.. Plan on making a stew tomorrow, bought some beef, veg etc. Do I just put the veg and chopped beef etc all on, whack some stock water etc in and put it on? Should I brown the beef off? Thanks

Yep. Chop veg up, not too small though. Bang in with meat and stock. I didn't brown off my beef last week and it was fine.
