good idea. Will be a good indicator of how far the other cars have advanced since last year if Marussia are running 2014 cars with only 2015 regulatory updates, whatever they may be.

Pretty sure they have advanced quite a bit as I am sure during the last testing session they commented that Merc had gone quicker than Hamiltons quali lap from the previous year.

Should make the 107% rule interesting for some teams. (If they still use it)

That rule is complete bollocks. They always say they've allowed them to race.

So it turns out Alonso lost 20 years worth of his memory for a short time after his accident.

His words straight after were: ''i'm Fernando. I drive go karts and want to be a formula 1 driver''

It was a Lotus actually that has gone quicker than Hami's pole time - so yeah the whole grid has advanced a lot!

Not to mention the other teams could easily manipulate it. If the top runners all ran options in Q1.... no chance back markers would make 107%!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the Sauber pit if vdG does race!

Indeed. I always thought that "sue your employer" was quite high on the things not to do list!

Debating whether or not to get up at silly o' clock to watch it live.

I mean, that's why we have sky+ right? No doubt the recording would fail or something equally as gay would fuck me over though.

Been a few times that's happened to me. Ruins it

Crazy that its back already. Seems like Abu Dhabi was last week, maybe thats because I watch it weekly

Love the start times on these early races, means i can watch it before i go to work if i sacrifice some sleep. Lewis doesnt seem overly happy, bit concerning, see what happens after quali. Rosberg was on the radio a lot wanting advice and was being told he was struggling with saving fuel. Still miles ahead mind

Ferrari looking much better, hope the pace is genuine, as much as im enjoying Lewis being in the best team i think I've had my fill of himself and Rosberg so far infront, mainly because it means Nico's [and Lewis'] mistakes in the race arent punished and the championship can be decided by reliability. Be good if the Ferrari's, or anyone for that matter [except Mclaren] can get in the mix. Cant see it for a while though!

The cars appear to sound quite a bit louder, which is nice.

Mclaren sounds a bit weird though.

I'm sure McLaren expected some teething problems but you have to say that it's been appalling up to now. Both them and Honda do not seem to have used the years development wisely. They don't seem to have a grip on things at all.

Doesn't appear to have particularly improved by the end of Q1 either

It still looks odd when the commentator is yapping on about Vettel while a Ferrari is on the screen...

Indeed!

Also had to do a double take when the name Carlos Sainz appeared in a Toro Rosso, before remembering it's his son.

That was a bit good eh? Dossier getting prepared for Rosberg as we speak.

Just LOL at Mclaren. Couldn't happen to a nicer team. Also seems Torro Rosso are right up there with RB, be hilarious if they get beaten by their junior team
