Done 20,000miles in a year in a £4k audi a3 tdi, had to replace rear pads and an alternator.
Someone could of bought that car and done 10k a year and only had those problems spread over 2yrs, So spent £4k, £20 on brakes and £200 on alternator and still sell the car afterwards for £3-£3.5k
Can't go spending money on What-ifs, thats what car insurance is for. Sod buying a car on that basis.

If only it was a new A3, then your reply would be valid in a thread about leasing new cars

Thats the thing, a new has less chance of going wrong, if a 10yr old one only cost £300 in repairs over 20,000miles than it kinda proves the scaremongering is false.
People only want new cars to show off imo People with the cars that break down a lot are making bad choices in buying used cars, never buy a modified car or someone's old project, only buy original, Full service history 1-2 owner cars.
Not manky old astras that someone else has given up on.
Bad choices, not bad cars.

Good-o
Shall we get back to the original topic on lease deals rather than continue to railroad it to discuss irrelevant points?

A bit of a bargain that Would be interesting to see what a maintenance package would cost though, as i suspect they'll find someway to screw you in that area without it.

Deal seemed fairly cheap. 199 per month 15k pa.
Kind of panicked into it as the deal ended today and everything else is 250+

We've just got a bog standard 15 plate corsa van at work and its a very nice van, impressed with it. The vxr is a grower, im liking the shape more everytime i see any model corsa.
My vxr on lease was 3x23 160 a month for 8k a year miles. So that sounds about right, good for it being a new released shape id think.

Why have you got something you don't really like the look of or want? Makes no sense.
