Had a few games with the sv98 this morning trying to unlock the attachments.
Really enjoyed it and really started to get the hang of it with loads of kills each game.
Be glad when I've unlocked some more weapons and attachments. I'm miles behind everyone still

I find the city maps like tehran and karkland best for sniping, lots of roof tops and cover. People don't seem to notice you up high a lot of the time.

its literally hit and miss, if your sniping on close maps, someone always just comes up and knifes you, that or everyone just gets rocket launchers out....then on the bigger ones everyones running about like headless chickens and you can hardly get any kills once youve found a good spot to camp
one of those..just gotta keep going...i really wana get a shotgun as a snipers secondary weapon so im not completly fcuked every time someone comes up close...anyone know how?

keep your eye on the map for red triangles and spot enemies for your team (back button)
If your playing assault put down medic packs in the action and ammo if your support class.

If you go engineer, try and shoot tanks etc in the back, it does more damage.

I tend to just stick to Assault and Engineer. Don't like Support that much and still finding Recon annoying without a bolt action pull rifle! That was the good thing in BC2, you got a bolt sniper rifle as your first gun!

You not got the sv98 yet ? I'm about 5 kills off the pull for it. Seems ace compared to the svd or mk11 ones.
What's score with silencer on them? Worthwhile or reduce power to much?

No I don't. Get too annoyed playing with the SVD and MK11 to bother that much with them.
Only tip I would have for sniping is don't get a tactical light on your rifle. The amount of people I see sniping up a hillside in the distance with a tactical light is ridiculous, makes them so easy to spot!

m40A5 thing is far superior to the SV98 in my opinion, seems to reload faster and scope is not as big or in the way when running. got nearly 500 kills with it now

would probably just be glare off a big scope rather than tac light, all rifle and ballistic scopes do it.
To level up quicker with the recon don't use the rifles early on, get on grand bazzar or metro with a shotgun and stick your tugs sensor down in the action for spot assist points.

on the new map with the radio tower at base C on conquest i did some fully awesome planning.
got to the top, laid AT mines all around the top bit where the snipers go, then shot a few people who came up the stairs got killed, saw 4 people coming up the stairs on kill cam, so respawned at B, fired a rocket to the top of the tower and it blew up my mines and i killed 4 people 
made my balls feel weird for a bit
