Christ- best of luck! That will be awesome, and pretty hellish I should imagine
Yeah, I have heard various different reports of what its like but ultimately everyone has agreed it hurts. I kind of wonder if its like getting a tattoo, everyone that has one says it kills but reality is it doesn't hurt that much at all.....

Day off today so finished the bikes service and squeezed a 35 mile ride in - now have new puncture proof winter tires, new tubes, inner and outer brake and gear cables, new bar tape, changed to ultegra brakes, fitted the crud mk 2 mudguards (fiddly!) and fitted and programmed the Garmin 810 Satnav unit - which is an absolutely amazing Christmas present from Mum and Dad - had a quick play with the navigation on the way home and it is incredible how easy it is to use....gonna save a lot of map reading!

can anyone tell me what some good pedals are to buy for the mountain bike? I've had v8 copies since i bought it and they're just not that grippy. i know genuine v8s or v12s will be a decent pedal but wondered if there was anything else worth looking at.
being fussy, they have to be red.

I have these and they are ace. Very light, low profile and very grippy.
Could probably spend more but these are great value for money imo

Shimano Saint for me, take the washers off the studs and they will be a little grippier... They are cheaper than Nano Techs as well.
