The Bourne Legacy - 6.5/10 - Was an OK watch but the storyline was a little weak overall and apart from the action aspect, not an awful lot happens. It's no where near as good or comparable as the previous three films.

Nic - Did you see Looper at the pics or dodge release? If the latter, was the rip any good?

Dubious cam rip Dom, far from the best but still a decent film IMHO. Definitely re-watch when a good rip comes.

Saw sinister in the cinema last night. It was actually a really good horror movie for a change. Some of the recent horrors I've seen have been shit!
7.5/10.

Weird, but on reflection it works well.

Read it when you first posted it but after watching it. Helps make more sense of it. Can totally see why people who didn't know about it been that type of film would criticise it though.

Bunraku - 6/10

This is a hard one to judge. It's essentially a western-meets-martial-arts mash up. It's Sin City on LSD if directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Very interesting visuals that I quite enjoyed. The story is weak and heavily relies on quite a few combat scenes that unfortunately get quite repetitive and, at a few instances, are just downright silly.
There are a lot of fantastic characters, but none of them seem to get just enough screen time for you to get to know them other than superficially.
It's worth a watch for the visual style alone.

Taken 2 - 6/10 (review in the Taken 2 thread)

I am surprised at the low score for looper by some on here but no surprise that it's the usual miserable bastards that dont like it. Same old syndrome of when something is very good and hyped up some human beings decide they will hate it just for that reason (bit like apple products tbh)

Could it not just be that it's not very good?

What if imdb said it was bad and you liked it?

I'd say John feels guilty of grumpiness.

That is such an ironic statement, given your take on Michael Bay and his movies.

Seth is elite when it comes to films. His score is the only score that matters.

Equilibrium - 5/10

CGI looks like it's from the 90's.
Bale is dancing around doing kung-fu moves while shooting two guns and the whole thing is just terribly silly.
