Sump pan looks quality, so shallow. Looking good, bet you can't wait till its built now.

money, dunno, last engine was 5500, gearbox probably just short of 1k, this one 2k so far, dunno, got to the point when its not about money now, its about finishing it.

this engine build wont cost so much working where i work and already having alot of the major bits.

Going back to the window thing whats the difference between polly carb and perspex?

I have a good price on a perspex set with molded rear (assume this is due to the curvature?

Dont have a garage to keep it in though and I do ocasional pop to the shop in it lol, not as if there is much to nick inside though lol and I always remove steering wheel

Stu, I think he was planning on mounting it in place of the PAS pump.

Butler, the ones in the pics aren't good enough for the revs he wants to run.

dry sump is simply that... dry of oil

The oil is collected from the sump pan, and sprayed to vital parts of the engine, which saves the crank having to slap through a puddle of oil in the sump every rotation the engine makes.

Other advantages include no oil sloshing about when cornering hard, and no chance of oil starvation either as the oil is constantly collected from the sump pan and sprayed to vital bits

Also that the engine can be mounted slightly lower as theres no sump hanging, which improves and lowers the center of gravity on the car, hence making it quicker to get round the corners.

The crank surely shouldnt have to actully "slosh" through the oil

thats what happens when you overfill the oil and the crank hits the oil in the sump, frothing the oil and creating bubbles

best part is no starvation due to the cylinder oil reservoir..... constant oil supply.
