With older cars the insurance company may have had a speight of claims with a certai ncar, i.e Adrian flux wont touch anyone under 25 on a subaru imprezza.

I got a quote on an audi RS4 worth £50k cheaper than a 6yr old m3 worth £9k.

Alot of the time new cars are cheaper to insure. No background on them for the companies to bump the price up...

Saying that Direct Line wouldn't insure me on a Nova GSi but would a 2.2 Astra Coupe.

I found it difficult getting insurance at 18 on my 1.6. Theres better cars out there that cost less to insure but I cant afford to buy them Alot of places said I had to be 21 so it could be hard for people 18/19 but then they probably couldnt afford the car anyway.

but with all these high insurance groups it will kill a lot of sales to young people who want them IMHO

unless vaux give free insurance, their target audience will not be able to afford to insure them

a lot of people have 2.0 and turbo corsa B's - but how many are actually insured as the correct engines?

clio 197 high insurance? you are assuming that all vxrs will be sold to young people? why? we sell plentyfull of astra vxrs and vectras to older people. we see older people with corsa sri's.

i think you are wrong in judgin what people will be buying this car.

but astra and vectras are theoretically bought by older people, corsas are bought by younger people, its common sense

Its faster than the Astra GSi Mk4, maybe not midrange or top end but off the lights, just.

why not?

my dad is nealry 60 yet he drives around in a £90k porsche that looks more suited to a younger person?

john Caudwell, ex owner of fones4u and singlepoint, he drives an aerial atom everyday. he is a good friend of my family and he is late 50's.

every manufacturer builds and develops vehicles to cater for all types of people. because the car is, as you say a "max power" car, this does not mean that it is for young people.

the whole branding of the VXR range was aimed at people who went out for drives purely because they wanted to enjoy the fun of driving their car. they are aimed at people who genuinely enjoy using there car for pleasure and not just for going the local shops.

i dont think this new vxr will be much of a drivers car, it looks unbalanced, too high, probably wont give much feedback, probably understeer etc etc

but i may be wrong, thats just what i think it will do by looking at it
