Read my reply again and see if you can understand it?

the terms you outlined above are always asociated and used in jest and taken as a compliment, now when someone calls someone a 'paki' this is often with the intention to offend.....you still with me or do we need to go back to learning A....B....C.....

Npw the comment about media made it racist, if they did so, then this is why people use the term.....in order to illustarte their ill feelings to what they think is one whole race.

Do you ever see someone who has decent morals calling a friend a paki?

I sugest the person who thinks moving to Pakistan will be better than here do so because it may teach you how humble and welcoming another country be and take a leaf out of their book.

its the context, not the term itself.

i do get your point, although i feel its a weak one.

i could call someone a bastard, it may be factually correct, however the insult still means the same

Good point. It is all down to the context. But unfortunately, if you have not known a person for long, or have a good bond with them, they won't really see the funny side of being called a paki.

I think you need to seek a valid point as you arguing something you can't even tell the difference between.

Most people who get called 'Brits' take it as a compliment however if a white person was reffered to as a honky this is with he intend to offend. So people refrain from using the term. Not hard is it?

Now when the term 'Paki' is used people find if offensive, you know that so why can't you not use it? Is that hard?

Its all down to the context mate. You know them so they won't find it offensive, friendly ribbing. But if you were to walk up to one in the street and say "fucking Paki" I think they would find it offensive

I think Topshot is on to a point about double standards though with regards to the whole banner situation, yet no-one seems to have responded to that. Why is it okay for islamic protestors to walk through the streets with distasteful banners like that, yet if i was to walk the streets with a banner saying death to Islam (apart from get a fookin good kickin) i'd probably also be picked up by the police and charged within 5 minutes? Opinions

would also like them to answer this. BNP march was cancelled due to 'possilbe offensive nature of it' yet islamic ones are allowed.

I agree with you on that, as I said on the last page I can't see why there is such a vast difference between you or I saying Paki, or being called a Brit etc. But unfortunately that is the PC road this country has went down and doesn't seem to be coming back up.
