And shite.

Ngog has scored twice as many goals as Owen in the league this season and played a lot less games.

Buck stops with the manager, end of the day its up to him to get the players to perform. If they aint doing that then he has to go, same as in any other walk of life.

Might not always be the managers fault per se, but you cant really sack the whole team can you.

I do agree with you, but personally I see no benefit from getting rid of him.

We couldnt afford a 'top' manager such as Mourinho as he'd want ridiculous wages and he'd want money to spend. Neither could be done.

I also think some of the players wouldnt benefit from a new manager, they need to sort themselves out, not have someone try to drag them out. A new manager could just see us step even further back (likes of Reina, Torres, etc. would no doubt look to move), further rebuilding, etc.

Tough one to call. If Rafa doesn't get you into Europe this season (CL will be hard, and way you are going you might not even make the top 6) so your bigger players wont want to be not playing in Europe until 2011 so they could leave anyways.

Suppose with the money involved its a tough one to call to do what is best for the long term.

If he doesnt get us into the top 4 then its a different matter that will need to be assessed then, but going from the situation right now, I see no reason to get rid.

Do you think you'll make top 4 given the present circumstances with injuries etc?

If Torres and Gerrard were fit then Id of said yes.

Hopefully Gerrard will be back asap, and if he is then we could still crack on and make something of the season. If his injuries keep getting extended then Ive no idea.

Id like to think so yeah, but it means snapping out of this shocking form, starting with the Spurs game.

So you admit you are a 2 man team

Suppose if you can pick up points against the other contenders you have a chance, but if you lose a couple then its game over I reckon.

Obviously not a 2 man team (both were out for large parts of last season yet look where we were) - but the team is going to be worse if you take the two best players out.

Will have to see really, Im hopeful we can snap out of it soon, but if not its going to be a long end to the season.

You didnt play a game last season without one of them featuring in the league

That imo shows that you did so well last year because you always had one of them playing plus alonso, now you don't have alonso and they are not playing as much because they are made of glass.

Shows the 2 man team problem imo

Just had a quick look, not at all games, but he only played for 20mins (Gerrard) in the win against you lot at Anfield last season. Torres didnt play at all.

I know,

Played 17 games together in the league last year

Gerrard played 29 times

Torress 24

But one of them featured in every game. That also isn't including games when they were unused subs if any

That makes no sense what so ever. Are we a one man team then as always got one of them? If anything only having one of them in the team for a lot of the season and still being where we were proves we arent a 2 man.

Torres started 20 games last year, and came on in 4.
Gerrard started 30 and came on in 1.

And you'll be ignoring Reina next. Or the defence that (other than this season) has let in one of the fewest amount of goals of all the teams.

It proves that they are way above the rest of your team and when one of them plays it lifts the whole team

I do think that without either of them playing you are shockingly average. And when one plays, either, you are a different team completely

Reina is a goalkeeper, he may be a good one but there are plenty in the world similar imo

There are very few gerrards and torres'

Liverpool won't finish top 4 and Torres will go back to Spain and Gerrard to Chelsea.
