graham88 says you cant compare those cars due to the fact the focus has leather seats ect,so the outcome of that race is irrelevant
lol shut up you pedantic little twat. You know exactly what I am saying but just being an awkward little child!
yeah i know what your saying and its true, just noone asked that question so why go keep going on about it?

I couldn't resist commenting on this... it's a weak hot hatch?
Best engine on the market, best gearbox on the market, one of the best handling FWD of it's time, most reliable car of any out there... so remind me again why it's weak?
Oh and sorry i'm a Honda fanboy, and for a very good reason, i've had 182s,vts's,punto GT, Corsas, ibiza cupra, cooper s works, and there is a reason why my last 3 cars have been Hondas

or if you have 10k, mins 2k for a ready made redtop corsa and spend 8k you will have a better car and then you can say a 90s hatchback is better than a 10k focus.
Not doubting that, but then you and I both know that'd be pretty silly as it's still a Corsa and you would be lucky to sell it for half that, at least the Focus is still worth the same

list price of a st is.................? list price of a 1.6 16v sport corsa is???????? must be 8-10k difference in list price 2.0 corsa or not, just about says it all really
no different than ulot saying if spent x on an st it would be even quicker blah blah

You can't compare list prices from a car that was last sold 10 years ago to now, it's not really going to be a fair comparison is it due to inlfation for a start.
And if you mean prices now, it's still not a fair comparison, everything depriciates. I don't particularly like Fiesta ST's but there much nicer cars and much more advanced cars than a Corsa Sport.
Your statement is ridiculous quite frankly.

its just not pointless though is it as we are not comparing a vxr corsa vs a st are we so the statement stands im afraid in my opinion
also not to metion the st is a mid-range hot hatch and the corsa would have been a small town car
even by todays inflation blah blah what ever excuse you want to use a corsa should nover be compared in the first place as they are not in the same class to begin with, we should be comparing a astra vxr with st so again statement stands

well your going to say that,as you said your a fanboy.agree with everything apart from the engine tbh, they are a good engine just needed a bit more power/torque as they are not the quickest are they.they are well built and reliable though.
i compared there pace to a mk2 astra gte, which obviously is lighter but has less power yet straight line pace is about the same.not a car i would class a quick tbh, still a nice car though and as you say handle very well.

Until you go and put a big engine from a different car in, you could put a 5l V8 in the ST but that's not what it was designed for

There's about a second's difference to 60 and the best part of 6mph top end.....
All in the Civic's favour, of course.

Your missing the point, a car is a package all manufactuers try and create a package for the market.
If Honda released the EP3 with the engine making the power it could it wouldn't be possible for young drivers to insure.
Tell me a 2.5 and under NA engine you can gain 50 BHP from across nearly half the rev range with just bolt on mods! And i mean bolt on not cams etc?
Tell me an engine that can run all day long at 9K RPM with 500 +BHP on standard internals?
You seem to be like most who haven't owned one who spout rubbish about them the K20 is widely known as one of the best engines out there!
It's engineering at it's finest and still there is no other like it, Toyota came close, but not close enough.
No stirring SportyBoy the S2000 engine uses the same principles and technology as the K20, just was realeased with 240 BHP, however bolt ons on the s2000 only yield 20 bhp or so, which kind of shows the K20 was released well below it's true potential.
