I think its more of an indication of forum trolling rather than general opinion, or a classic example of a thread starting with a certain tone and it continuing, bet if this had been made a different time with a different attitude from the start would have turned out the other way.
but i may be wrong

Give it an extra 100hp and the 2nd 50 will still buy it and the first 50 will be happy!
But they have set out to create what they wanted to create in the first place, so from the design point of view they have done a perfect job.
Sometimes people just create things because they want to, to make it perfect for a set role, Toyota wanted to make something balanced and fun.

Agreed, any publicity is good publicity and all that.

well it is when the maximum speed limit on uk roads is 70mph i reckon less than 0.5% of the population drive on tracks.

oh and just to add, i was driving the fiesta today, 70bhp, and got cut up by a bmw 320d who thought he was the big man.
if i had more power than him, i wouldn't have been cut up.

Going by that logic, even if the car had 50bhp more which is what most people are arguing it needs, it would make bugger all difference below 70 mph really, maybe half a cars length from the lights.
Id say quite a large % drive on B roads at some point though

bugger all difference and half a cars length are 2 different things.
say that to an f1 driver, i'm sure he will disagree.
b road single carriageways are 60mph, and need power even more from 0-60 due to the constant twisty corners.

i just want to get people even more angry tbh i find it hilarious that people bang on about steves motor needing more power, then say the toyota gt86 has enough power as it is.
i reckon bhp/ton on both cars are almost the same.

Grate looking car. Sound bit pants though.
I think it could be a good car to get to learn about rwd dynamics.
Seems a touch under power though. Well, maybe not power but maybe another 50ft lbs of torque a touch lower in the rev range?
