Nah mate you wanna build up the distance first then work on speed.
I did the opposite and it's a one way ticket to shin splints

What the fuck is a gait?

your running style, the way your foot lands in relation to your ankle and the transition to pushing off your toes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gait_analysis

How often does everyone run? I started by doing 3 times a week when I did Couch 25k and did it no bother but I'm only running twice a week now and I seem to be getting worse at it, slower and less energy to do the distances
Maybe it's just because I hate running

3 times a week in the gym and maybe once a week on the road.

I really fancy the Powerbeats 2 wireless but the price is stupid.
These seem to have good reviews but I'm not keen on them letting in ambient noise as it means less bass

I would have bought them but I like my earphones to be plugged into my ears if you know what I mean, those ones are silicone but don't go deep in the ear

Did Oulton Park 10km last Sunday and managed to PB - 49.21.
Pretty chuffed as Oulton is quite lumpy!
Hopefully sub 49mins will be possible at Manchester 10km in May.

oddly had them headphones in the duty free of the airport. If I have enough pocket change left on the way back may invest

Just been for a 6km run with my mate. I'm feeling I can run further and he is getting better too but 6 appears to be his limit at the moment.

I was ill the week before last and haven't run since, last few weeks not been enjoying it.
Digging up my garden every evening at the minute so I'm still getting my exercise, will try to push myself back in to running next week

I'm ruined! I thought it was a good idea at 3km to aim for 10!! At 5km I was starting to tire as I went to the gym yesterday. Doesn't help when you are running on an open plane and you can see in to the distance where you need to be.

I'm trying intervals at the minute at the gym. 1min walk 1 min run aiming for 17-18kmh on the runs. I really struggled through it the other day.

Just started running last week for a 5k I have coming up.
First 5k was 283
Just been out and did it in 27:27 so quite pleased with that, I know it isn't quick but for my seventh run since school I'm happy. Hope to get to under 25 minutes soon, need to pick a more level track as this goes up and down steep steps, through a wooded section and through a few crop fields lol. Any tips would be good 😄
