tonights entertainment



oil change. notice the cut out old oil tub to catch the oil. handy.



minor spillage and one of uni parts finest oil filters





re-piped and filtered catch tank. pipe had split so had just left if off.



big tub of oil. quite heavy when you have a pulled tendon in your hand.





time for another handy home made helper, a chopped off orange bottle, previously cleaned and dried so dont worry.



then wired the boost gauge up, wired the oil pressure and volt gauges up and mounted them in place with some zip ties. winner.

tidied up some other wiring, really need to re-investigate and shorten and lengthen things properly shortly as its annoying.

cool. a nice relaxed evenings work.

thanks

got some lovely double sided adhesive tape this morning so i can stick and bolt the spoiler on when i get home from work. Be about as ready as it will get for the weekends drag racing. Will report back with what breaks on sunday evening.

yep went both weekends last year. Nice to have something like that on doorstep really. Sheared a clutch plate and snapped a shaft. All part of fun. Probably run both days in july as thats the next one.

typicallly, the magnetic oil bung arrives the day after ive done my oil change. typically i was supposed to be going to help map my mates honda tonight so wouldnt have had chance to do an oil change. typically plans for tonight are no longer on so would have had time. ah well. will fit it in a month or so when i do next change.

dipstick tube is nice and shiney. also notice in the pic is some double sided adhesive tape for attaching the spoiler on. which i will get on with shortly i think seen as the cumbrian sun is shining for the time being.

it looks good for the money matthew old friend. good for the money.

tonight had some fun. the scene spacers on the rear were causing a lot of wobble from rear end oddly so took them off and raised the car a whole 7 turns on the rear. looks about 10-15mil higher so will maybe need to raise it more tomorrow. time for sleep. gotta be up at 8 to go to local drag strip ken.

well didnt get on that great today really. bust a water hose which was easily and quickly fixed then spent most the day having next to no grip. due to the bumps on the air field was often starting to spin up in 4th and 5th etc. 12.2 i got with 60ft of 2.0 which is good. although due to lack of grip in higher gears meant i couldnt get much faster. had fun though. 25-30 runs i got cant remember exactly.

todays excting crail trip had little in the way of pics and not much overall excitment. but anyway



vxr james ate a burger and a hot dog.



team cumbria ride in style



broke my bumper getting car off the dolly. cool.

overall had another shocking day putting 11s down track mid way through 4th. awful. managed an unamazing 12.4 made vauxhall shootout semi final, missed 2nd against an astra vxr, found 3rd, lagged a bit got boost started to catch up quickly, went to 4th, snapped throttle cable. oh well. my shootout was over. fella called jordy who's car ive put pics up of on here, corsa c with astra vxr motor on dta won it and his best was a 13.3 i believe. goes well indeed.

busy weekend, things to fix, things to look at improving somehow. its been great.
