Update:

Found a 1.4 8V SPI engine, will be fitting that, which will have a new clutch, timing belt done, engine all cleaned up/painted, the GSI cam fitted, and If I can be bothered, bodging up my GSI manifold to fit.

Why did you take a picture of the pump?
Thermostat and servicing stuff would come to about £30-£40 so isnt that much

My thermostat was £3 for the 1.2. Great I though, then opened the haynes manual to see how to change it......remove top cam pulley
