Boost pipe not secured properly, actuator fucked or penny valve snapped off.

Checked boost pipes, tried 2 actuators, penny valve is also what I was thinking but surely I wouldn't get that much boost pressure if it was?

If it was weak I can't see why it wouldn't have snapped off. Not un-heard of.

Oh and if you do check it by taking the exhaust off becareful if you take off the elbow from the housing as I've had the bolts seize and snap with the threads in the housing. Taking just the downpipe off is far easier.

if it was in limp mode the ecu light would be on, assuming its wired up to the dash that is.
engine only is in limp mode when the light is on.

Yeh I did make that mistake of trying to remove elbow and one bolt snapped off inside.

Popped down to see Stu at Griffin Center. They have built some monsters and are currently doing a twin LET'd Clubman! Crazy, but I know he'd be the man. When I explained he doesn't think the penny valve has gone as the turbo arm doesn't pass through 360 deg. into the block. To reduce the risk of blowing it up, I'm going to have it all rollered, diagnosed and then set up Thursday to see whats happening then take it from there. Fingers crossed.

Update!!!
WEEEH HHEEEEEY! Shes working! Took a visit to Hi Tech motorsport Wednesday and left my car with them so they could work on it Thursday and get everything diagnosed on the rollers. Turns out boost problems were down to:
- Fuel Pressure
- Vac pressure
- Few fuel, vac hoses
- Amal valve
Mick at Hi Tech set it all up for me and said the amal valve was causing most of the problems so that's now been disconnected and bypassed and boost set manually.
After setting it up he gave it a few runs and it made 258bhp and 221 lb/ft torque! @ 13psi Very very happy thats its all sorted and now it runs like a dream. Didn't even ask him to set the boost so high but he suggested it and said he crept it up bit by bit and the new actuator was holding it well and the turbo boosting spot on. The boost delivery is 100% better. Much more gradual through the range and nice and progressive rather than the aggressive delivery it used to give.
More than happy now.

Cheers Luke. Yeh it's so different now and it runs like a dream. Gotta love Vauxhall I mean how many 14 year old small, simple chassis cars do you know that you can put a big 2L lump and 6 speed box in and it still be OK? Not to mention the engine and turbo have both now seen 100k and I've had nothing but praise from the operator.

Made a start on my gauge set up now. I'm skint at the moment so it's a slow process. I got myself a 3 pod A pillar mount:
and a PSI read boost gauge from Auto Gauge. Looks cool, they have a smoked glass front but when when you turn over ignition, they light up. Cool!
I'm going to get a voltage gauge and then maybe oil pressure or fuel/air ratio too also go in the pod. Should look cool once done. Cheers.

Same gauges i had in my corsa turbo, really like them and will be fitting some in the new car aswell.
I would go for Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature for the other 2 gauges

I have the same also, and I would also go for oil pressure and oil temperature. Otherwise if you get voltage you'll realise you need another and then another. Untill it starts to look like my car (spaceship).
