Yup. I'm thinking OZ.
The Mk1 RS wheels were OZ, so that would kinda tie in.
Yeah, he is interested. He's thinking about buying a second one

Just been having a look at the OZ wheel range, and its quite shit actually.
BBS will probably be the best bet if he's willing to shell out that much.
He was talking about buying one of the last ones to be made if the car was a hit and it looked like they were going to hold their value.
Since it looks like he's going to have an early one, his will be the oldest in a few years time.
He just likes to have the best of the best.

Its nothing like that at all RS has proper motorsport pedigree since the begining of time, VXR has been around 5 mins!
I was being SARCASTIC!!!!! Hence the face! VXR is nothing and will never be anything like the RS marque!!

Be prepared to eat your words, RS of late are shit. They were good in the 80's early 90's since they average at best.

What are you basing that on?
The Mk1 Focus RS was a great car, and that was the only RS since the Escort Cosworth.

because it's probably cheaper to use clear bulbs and red plastic then red bulbs and clear plastic.
it's only 15 quid or so from ford to get a clear one anyway, like the one i have.

What are you basing that comment on? Have you drove one?
I drove a couple when i worked for Ford. They are good cars, when comparing it to a focus ST170! But are far from being a great car. Very over rated, but its just a prime example of "Oh, it says RS. It must be awesome!"
Lets face it, its now turned into a reason for ford to sell cars at a rediculous price tag.

It actually looked a little odd with those wheels until i lowered it.
The new ride hight makes a big difference.
Which is a bugger cos my dad will never lower his.

The Focus RS Mk1 isn't as good as people make out. The Megane R26 is a better car for a lot less money, it's just because it has an RS badge on it.

Okay, the Escort Cosworth was seen as a great RS. Agreed?
Escort Cosworth:
227 BHP
4WD,
1304 KG,
0-60 = 5.60 seconds
Focus RS:
212 BHP
FWD
1278 KG
0-60 = 6.4 seconds
So the Focus is 26kg lighter than the Cossie, but its also 15 BHP down.
Therefore the Cosworth still has more BHP per Ton.
The Cosworth has 4WD, so its quicker to 60 and in theory, it will be able to put the power down earlier, and it will handle better round a relatively tight track.
If you watch this video, you'll see that the Focus, is only 1.5 seconds slower than the Cossie. Okay, its about ten years newer, but still not a bad effort for a less powerful front wheel drive car.

Heres another video...

Yes, I know these are both made for the TV, so they may be slightly biased or innacurate, but considdering I have done several thousand miles accross country backroads in one, I can back these up.

The reason its black is because part of the design is to have bits of "piano black" details on the car. The spoiler, the front of the bonnet, the grill in the front bumper, the rear bumper and the mirrors. It adds contrast to the car and in my opinion, it makes it look more interesting.
Something that follows the lines of the car, in the same colour and where it should be on the tailgate really. Just looks wrong. A mismatch.

First RS Video review from Autocar...
http://www.autocar.co.uk/VideosWallpapers/Videos.aspx?AR=238360&CT=V
And a written review from The Times.
quote: Sometimes it’s good to annoy people. Today, as wealthy supercar drivers sit down to read about how I got on driving the new Ford Focus RS, they may be regretting investing six-figure sums in their fragile pieces of automotive one-upmanship. Because this 300bhp hyper-hatch will leave any supercar standing.
Okay, I should qualify that. It will leave them standing across country, on your favourite B road. But seeing as that’s where any self-respecting petrolhead gets their kicks, the new Focus RS represents the biggest upset to the establishment since Audi harnessed four-wheel drive for its quattro in the 1980s.

Looks good in that vid... I look forward to fifth gear review...
Looks like it's going to be pretty unbeatable on track, especially if people tune them up to 380+ bhp
Proof FWD cars with LSD's are very capable and it's not 'Well unless its RWD it won't be good handling'
