Right, better get on with it then, really tough this time, with the 2 weeks to get pics in there.
As always, these are only my opinions, and any critisisms are meant to be constructive. It was really difficult to pick this week, and to leave comments that might be helpful while explaining my placings.
So,
1st Place - With the unfortunate task of choosing and critiquing next weeks is...
mattk - was really difficult to pick a winner, but I think overall, it's framed really nicely, and it's very sharp, there's still a lot of detail, even though it's black and white.
2nd - neo, it's lovely and sharp, and the lighting really sets it off, and i'd say it was a landmark of the town, 1st pub is a landmark event!
3rd - Viper - It's probably the best of the subject, but it's third because it doesn't seem as crisp as the others, and I don't like the tree's in the foreground, although i'm guessing there wasn't much you could do about it.
Others...
Adam_B - Great picture, I really like it, very sharp again, slightly morbid with the branches looking like bones in the foreground, only reason it wasn't top 3 was I didn't think it matched the landmark/icon thing, although I'm sure it is to pre-pubescent boys of the area
Conway - It's blurry, if it came out like the picture probably looked on the camera, then would of been higher.
Dave - Fair play for trapsing around in the rain, just a shame you didn't have a cover for your camera, again, slightly blurred, I guess from the long exposure and handheld?
Doug - Like this picture, very clear, and very nicely coloured, everything looks the colour it should, I think the only reason it wasn't higher was I felt the others fitted the topic more? I dunno.... ARGH!
Matt - I appreciate the take on the subject, even though it may of just been laziness, it's well done, looks professional infact, but I lived in Crewe from 3-18 so unfortunately i'm not allowed to like Stoke things, so no win for you.

It was horrible this week, must have taken me 30 minutes to write it all up, just couldn't choose between 4 or 5 of them!

Yeah, sorry mate, didn't say much about yours.
I like the angle, the subject and the style, I assume it was meant to be just the lights showing, therefore highlighting the bridge itself rather than any foreground, just would of liked it more if it was clearer, was it handheld?
Not sure if it was even what you wanted to enter tbh, but took it as an entry anyway

There wasn't really much else to say
Yeah was handheld as had to park on double yellows behind a ferrari to try and get the picture quickly as it's a nightmare round there
Had hoped to get something like this although they've changed the lights now

I did use a tripod for all the pics but because it was quite dark the rain looks really bad. Probably because it was I took another couple of pics but the camera was pointing up a tiny bit and immediately got rain on the lens so had to call it a night
Planning on getting a D-SLR this year after buying my car

Just a compact at the moment mate, Nikon S210. Ideal for what I wanted in a camera, simple and as small as possible without being rubbish, but now I'm increasingly wanting a proper camera to take nice shots with.
Just read your D40 thread mate, I would have that in a heartbeat if I had the money right now. Basically exactly what I'm after. Technically I do have the money but it's for a car
