What a race!

Really impressive stuff from Merc, obviously they would have gained artificial early pace from short fuelling but the fact they were pushing their stints whilst RBR were delta driving is very promising.

Lewis pitting with McLaren, I'm disappointed he didn't pop out a facepalm as he pulled out again.

Uncharacteristic from 'Nando, who knows where he would have ended up.

Some proper pissed off faces in the RBR camp during the podium stuff, I don't believe Marko had the nerve to claim they don't have a one and two driver...

Mercedes team orders questionable I guess, unless Nico was short on fuel too. Likely I guess, can't see what benefit there is to fueling one more than the other. Lewis and Mercedes could really be a force even if not this year, McLaren have thrown several championships away due to their equal driver policies over the years.

great race. shame it didn't rain more.

alonso ridiculous if you ask me.

vettel is quickly becoming the justin beiber of motorsport. he's becoming a diva who wants everything his own way, and i'm glad webber was truthful in the podium interview.

feel sorry for nico as letting him past wouldn't have been a problem. again, nice to see lewis being humble and admitting it was wrong.

Hmm Button reckons he had a podium without the wheelnut problem.

Seems a bit optimistic tbh!

vettel has protection, he's a weak peddler (i think that's what he said), ''multi 21'' which means hold positions.

pretty much confirmed that webber won't be there next year anyway.

Oh dear Red Bull, what a mess. Merc showed them how it should be done and the drivers showed a massive amountof respect to one another, Lewis admitting Rosberg could've and should've had 3rd and Rosberg saying he totally understood the decision and that if he was infront and in Lewis' position he would have got 3rd and Lewis would have to have held. Very professional from the team and a complete contrast to Team Vettel.

What a tool he is, but he knows there will be no repercussions for him, that's why he did it.

Had to LOL at Lewis stopping in the McLaren pit Its a good job he realised otherwise they could've messed up his race because yet again they make comical errors like they did on Buttons car.

Maybe but he was strong and in a straightline not to shabby also finished the race on 3 stops not 4 so maybe

Was annoyed with Mercedes not letting Rosberg go by Hamilton. Had money on Rosberg getting on the podium

Very "Schumacheresque" of Vettel today I thought. Act now think later kind of attitude. He has obviously got his sights firmly set on a 4th consecutive title and is going to go out of his way to attempt to bring it home. Chuffed that Lewis got on the podium too. I'm really hoping he will take the fight to Red Bull as the season progresses.

Has anyone seen the story about Lewis trying to get a Red Bull seat before switching to Merc?

I'm not sure why the Hamilton/RBR thing suddenly became news again this weekend.

It was no secret last year that Lewis had been in chats with Horner & Co, he spent time at their motorhome during one of the Grand Prix (can't remember which, pre Italy at least).

His Contract at McLaren was due for renewal, and he was seen talking with RB - not sure what's so exciting about that, I'm sure him(his agent) had chats with Lotus, Ferrari and possibly others too...

Last time I checked formula 1 was described as racing. Might as well have stopped the procession if there gonna just sit behind each other.

Criticize vettel for winning?

Apart from that it was an OK race.

Not criticise for winning, it's for ignoring team orders.

Webber was told to ease off to save fuel/tyres because they had a big enough lead over the Mercs who were in the same boat, Vettel ignored this and passed anyway. If they were given the go ahead to race to the finish then fair enough but not when Webber has deliberately slowed.

Its a team sport. Why cant people understand that? The constructors is what brings the money in for the team and with limited engines/gearboxes available the teams need to manage that when they can.

Seb and Mark could have been left to race each other for the rest of the race and then, when they killed their tyres and dropped behind the Merc's or smashed into each other they'd have looked fucking stupid. It was a correct call from RB, they are very good at doing that, unfortunately Seb couldnt help himself, luckily Mark was mature enough to back off and accept 2nd.

Be interesting if later in the season Webber knows he's leaving, he's ahead of Vettel who needs points to win the championship whether he'll feel like getting his own back or not.

As said, it's not difficult to understand, team orders were to relax and manage the race, one driver followed that, the other is a german prick and didn't follow it.

I wonder if Horner will order Vettel to give up a lead in the future so that Webber can win a/the race? Can't see it happening.

Make sure you watch the race before making silly statements like that.

As said above, mark was told to bring the car home and turn the engine down and that vettel would not pass.

today just proved how pathetic and boring F1 "racing" is. Scrap the constructirs championship as no one gives a fuck and let the drivers fight it out properly

or let the drivers pay for their own cars an then they can crash into each other all they want?

simple fact is these cars cost millions of pounds to build and many more millions to make spare parts for.

i understand completely why they won't let them race each other after a certain point. remember turkey 2010? i very much doubt red bull want that happening again.

I watched it thanks, thought I'd tuned in to a race you know where people drive to win!

I can understand if we were nearing the end of the season but at round 2..

It's no good being the big man and taking the lead if you end up killing your tyres and having to pit/retire due to a puncture or end up crashing your car into your team mate. It's also no good if you have minimal fuel left you try to be the big man and take third then end up running out of fuel and having to retire or end up being disqualified after the race.
