I dont see why me adding my gf who has been driving nearly as long as me and never had any points would add that much on? She could insure both cars for less than i could insure mine. Lol

Buy the whole car and you can have the wheels. Not splitting the car as i have no other wheels. And if i did split it id sell the wheels for £450 no less.

I know tell me about it. Renewal said £480 + 3points and it goes up to £611. Add my gf and goes up to over £800. Shes been driving over 8 years and no claims. She could literally insure it for me and her corsa d 1.4 design for less than i could. Lmao. Just got a quote on a clio 182 cup and it was £450 with everything ticked, then £320 for a 2004 civic type r. Crazy bloody buggers. Plucking numbers out of thin air.

I want this soo badly
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/renault/renaultsport-clio/2x-renaultsport-182-16v-full-fat-both-cup-packs-recaros/1395983
Cheaper to insure than my car and twice the power and actually handles well. Just wether i can sell my car as ive added up what its cost me and i think that will stop me selling it tbh. Maybe if i can get a decent price for insurance i will keep it another year so i can save up then get something else.

Thing is i dont want a big engined corsa. I dont think it will help my case with the insurance and if i got a faster car it will be one thats fast from the factory. Lol I love my corsa to bits but it may be time to change it for something else.

Shame to hear about the insurance issues.
Tried Brentacre? They've given me reasonable quotes in the last 3 years with all mods declared.

Won't regret a Clio RS. Plenty of scope for modding too.

Apparently the clios do 40mpg on a good run and about 30-35mpg round town. I got about 34mpg average from a full tank.

I did think that. But then it will add another owner on and im only the second owner. She could just insure it as her car and put me as a named driver. But if i crashed it as the main user id only be third party fire and theft.

Would love to know what the guy has done to make it over 200bhp! Its not cheap to get there! Plus if you do buy one check where it's had the cambelt change done, some people claim a specialist has done it but really it's just a friend who's done it. If you want a Clio sign up to cliosport.net and check the sale section!

Its apparently got cams and a full exhaust with decat. I will sign up and see what i can find on there for when i want to buy one. Either way i need to get insurance sorted on the corsa as i need it for work. Then it may be up for sale and buy a clio. Once my cars sold id have to buy another car that week though because as ive said i need it for work.

182 to 200bhp don't cost the earth
Cambelt change is fine, as long as the dephaser has been set in the right place, and has been changed, as they rattle when fucked, then fall apart.
My mate gets 42mpg driving a bit slower than normal.

Small update. The pressed plates i bought at pvs never got fitted and before all this insurance nightmare i asked for my bro to buy me some plate holders for my bday. So today i fitted them.
And some cleaning stuff i was bought/and bought myself for my birthday(sad aint i?)

Cheers lads. The way i see it, i still need insurance to drive it even if i am selling it in a few months. So im just gonna pay the insurance and see how i feel in a few months. I worked out what ive spent recently on it plus the price i paid for the car and thought i may aswell get abit more use out of it and make it worth spending the money. Its now 100% mint and how i want it. MOT on saturday and hopefully it flys through again and im sorted for a year.
