When is it out? Kinda disappointed I didn't pre-order one, but it's unfortunately not the right moment for console playing.
As I type this I'm tempted again.... Any places where you can get one on release?

you can preorder a bundle off of shopto or asda or similar and they are offering release day, best you are going to get at this short of notice.

Its hardly getting bad reviews though. 7.7/10 for the launch
I didn't watch the video, but its essentially saying that it will become good, but at the moment there's no real need to buy it. The main critisism I skim read on it was the lack of media server abilities. Which I'll agree seems ridiculous when the ps3 was so useful for that. Although I have the nowtv box, so use that instead now, it wouldn't affect me anyway.
The games will come for it, as will the interaction though peripherals for it
They're obviously making it a pure gaming machine as opposed to Microsoft making it an entertainment box.

I wouldn't buy one at launch as I dont really see the point unless Theres a game Youre desperate for. May as well wait for a price drop and a game you want.
I'll probably end up getting a ps4 next November. My mate is getting his on launch day, so I'll have a go on his anyway.
(Also I'm too poor)

Most of the issues they mentioned either seem to relate to the UI or missing features, which should be 'fixed' in updates.
What is bizarre is the lack 5GHz WiFi considering it's becoming increasingly popular and it's becoming the standard in most devices

They'll sort that in the ps4 rebox though, as they did with the 3 which wasnt N ready in the first few iterations. Another reason to hold off on buying it

Wost points being:
"Not enough great games yet
Occasional worrisome performance problems
Interface doesn't scale well for power users"
I'd say that's a fairly positive review.
There's never been any doubt that waiting 12 months will make more sense as you'll have a clearer indication of game performance, post launch support and adoption rate. Can't really come as a surprise that there's no real benefit of being an early adopter.
Nothing at all has come out after the US launch that puts me off the PS4.
On the contrary, I'd say that how Sony have handled the issues - providing potential DIY fixes, exchanging consoles within 24 hours and giving refunds with compensation - has given me confidence that they're up to the task.
Right now we're caught in some sort of void where anyone pointing out it might not be as bad as it looks is a fanboy and anyone who slates the console is a hater. Will be a couple of months before things truly settle down, I'd imagine.

They did the same with the PS3 and 802.11n.
Even the two later slim models didn't see a 802.11n upgrade. For some reason WiFi technology isn't really on Sony's radar, which is bizarre given the purpose of the console.

The newest slims had 802.11n I believe.
My home internet is 2mb anyway, so doesnt bother me how quick the WiFi is really as I won't get to use its potential at all. Especially with the 4 not being a media machine
Glad Balling has said pretty much what I said, just more eloquently and more detail.
Also, until the Xbone comes out all eyes will be on ps4. When that comes out and has pages of fails (which it invariably will) it'll even out a bit.

The PS4 is sold out in the UK, even people with late pre-orders aren't guaranteed them until new stock arrives which could be months

most places though who offered release day state that they may not be able to fulfil it, if they cant then they give you something stupid like a 5 pound voucher which is pretty meaningless , i guess its luck of the draw on which retailer gets them and can fulfill the orders.

Agree. Amazon gave the option to upgrade to the large bundle, but get back in the line as a trade off. Would much rather save a bunch of money than have it a month or two in advance.
Looking at my December schedule, I wouldn't get much use out of it anyway.
