It's not my fault what's happened,it's a bad oil leak and couldn't do anything about it.

Gonna have a look tomoz and just hope it's not done too much damage.

Update : 14.05.2012

Here's the progress I made with the car saturday day with my dad. Spent about
6 hours on it. As you all know the car had a major oil leak so needed to sort it asap. Dad reckoned it was coming from crank seal so went and ordered one from Autovaux tuesday along with a oil pump gasket.

Also got a new GM filter while I was there.



So the day started off like this.





Timing belt inner cover off



Oil drained



Rocker cover,gasket and sprockets





Crank seal and oil pump off





New seal on £20 worth



Fitted



Sump back on



Belt back on



Rocker cover on and belt cover on





All back together







Then all back together,let her idle for 15 mins and no leaks. Then decided to take her out as the tapping was still quite loud. Took it round block and didn't stop. That's when we thought something's been damaged when oil got that low. Little flakes of silver in bottle of oil so that wasn't a good sign. Gonna check shells etc tuesday to see damage and hope it's not too bad.

I'll let you know the latest.

Also I need someone to wire me up a oil pressure gauge,haven't a bloody clue how to do it.

Yep.

Looking forward to it in a way,get it out,clean bay up again,buy some other bits to tidy engine up,buy all roose hoses for it,new heat shield and just touch up all the bits I've painted.

I now know there's no oil leaks,coolant leaks and fuel leaks so make the engine a minter and then look forward to finally drive it.

good effort changing that dan. hope you get the tapping sorted. got a spare set of well oiled lifters here if any use?
