Going back a fair few threads, as i don't think it's been mentioned, or clarified.
If being part of VBOA means your entitled to get Trade Club prices at VX dealers, then that alone should be worth it's weight in gold to alot of the members.
Also agree with the notion towards Premium members only to shows. It's not an ideal situation as like has been said, numbers could drop. End of the day though, the stands are Club stands, and usually to be part of a club, you have to be prepared to pay an enrolment fee. At least I would be anyway .

yeah but if we make it Prem members only to shows, and they need to pay £12.50 to get into billing
then the advantages of getting into billing will make the £12.50 that it orginally cost to show insignificant

Think your confusing Billing for being part of VBOA, but yeah I agree, the benifits to be had from being part of VBOA should offset the cost of membership by far.

no its because i cant word it properly
to attend billing amoust others you have to be part of the VBOA
we want to attend billing, so we become members of the vboa if they let us
People pay £12.50 to become a prem anbd buy tickets so they can attend billing, but as members of the VBOA we get alot of good discounts

If you can get trade discount at vx dealers this way I would pay whatever membership fee, as long as it wasn't ridiculous

That is correct.
You would get Trade Club as a CS Prem.

Then that definitely would attract more people.

Right well i cant see any issue with becoming a PM then
You need to be a PM to get into shows on the stand
we need paid members who detials are held in a database for the VBOA
we get all exsisting PM and renwals and new PM to fill in predefined fields with there details
the PM £££ stays the same
We get into the VBOA, can attend Billing and members get all the PM advantages, plus abilty to go on a stand, and get VX discount
there is only one winner IMO, that works perfectley as far as i can see

Prices may be a little out of date, but as a ball park figure:
Oil filter: Retail £ 3.80, Trade Club £1.00
Cam belt Kit: R £93.00, TC £62.50
Disks and Pads: R £ 59.50 TC £ 42.00
All plus VAT for both prices though.
Some huge discounts, which will re-coup the prem mebership cost in one purchase in some cases!

It wouldnt just be the Billing show though Rob, and PM would be able to buy a ticket for PVS, Trax, and whatever else is on the CS calender.

apologies, havent read the whole thread but i do have an idea.
What about reducing the prem membership fee slightly, lets say 5 quid as an example. In the great scheme of things, 5 quid isnt a lot of money, im sure more people would pay it but its whether the new people joining for 5 quid would make up the money lost by reducing the charge so that you could still have the revenue to get banners, flags etc. The downside is, people like myself and other non corsa owners would be less likely to pay so introducing a club charge would end up with a lot of members lost.

So if you have a show worthy car and spend a lot at Vauxhall you're laughing.
If you don't, you're currently not a prem and you buy your parts elsewhere, PVS just got more expensive.

that's true Ian, but if people aren't willing to contribute, why should they be allowed to show on a CLUB stand?

Yeah understand that. Deleted my post now, cause the Trade Club status has been confirmed so it's irrelevant .

Ian, Matt and Willay,
It was good to meet you at Luton yesterday, I was there with Allen Mead representing The Astra Mk2 Owners Club.
I'd be really happy to have a chat with you - didn't get chance after we went in for the verdict. If I can help by explaining our interpretation of the guidelines, please get in touch.
I didn't get chance to nick a copy of your booklet, if you have it online I'd be happy to read it and help if I can.
Regards,
Ian.

A nice club sticker to for each show you attended would be good as well.
