washed the car, fitted the XP10 pads and went on the look for some more castor
First up was flipping the mount for the alloy lower arms (to the ALK) 180deg. The mount is offset so this pushes out on th rear of the arm and forward a touch. Secondly I made sure the ALK's were mounted as far forward in there slots as possible.
Its visably added more castor, and given some toe in that will need sorted
crappy pics... but this is the mount I flipped
before
after
clean'ish

longer wheel studs and some hubcentric spacers arrived I'm being optimistic and thinking I can space them out 16mm more 5mm shims allround in pics above, could have gone with an ET15 or 9.5" rim
see what happens

Was in for some mapping at Wallace this afternoon - but had to be aborted as it burst the OE intake I knew it was worse for wear but was just being tight and not replacing it. That'll teach me... again

re-tapped the alloy lower arm this morning... (after spinning the mount to give more castor)
If anyone else does this and manages to bollocks up the soft threads its a M12 x 1.25 thread
Removed the XP10 pads (for Fee to have as spares for the weekend) and refitted the KSport sanitary towels - basically to stop the pistons falling out if anyone tries to brake it.
Electrical gremlins are back - car will not prime the fuel pump again. It was this time last year that it did this
'edited' the front splitter/undertray to allow full lock with extra castor and track/wheel width. Manages lock to lock without fouling now.
Its booked in to Wallace Performance next week to get this checked out and its final map done on the new engine.

New splitter on the Impreza (eventually got round to replacing the initial wooden test one )
Its about 500mm deaper and extends all the way back to the cusco H brace (rear of the gearbox crossmember)
Sits lower than wood one, is lighter and not angled quite as much

gave it a test... and the HDPE and alu reflective tape was not good enough to deal with heat. The splitter started to distort/melt and get closer to the heat source
SO.... bodge job using what I have lying around.
Layer one - the reflective metal tape
Layer two - exhaust wrap layed out flat in strips (aprox 400mm x 200mm)
layer three - 1mm alu sheet pop rivited over the wrap
Tested again, and with the car up to temp (85deg) the area under the header was cold to touch under the sump was warm!
Also added some alu bar/bracket to help keep the gap between splitter and headers around 50mm.
Aero:
Added some wee vertical end plate things to the splitter.... they kinda tie into the arches. Will maybe add small length ways ones on the sides once I get some more L brackets and pop rivets.
Arches:
Eventually got round to putting them on the right corners... well, I have the two offending bastards off!

Had a wee test of the Impreza at Oulton on Sat. There were a few other imprezas there on the day. Anyone here?
Some daft spins.... and still learning the car since new engine, new susp, new brakes etc etc. First time on track in it (bar one sprint) since Feb!
Seems nice and stable in the dry. You can hear Fee saying it felt better than hers. In the wet was a different story. I didnt bother changing anything from a dry setup. Full hard all round, very worn 888's etc.
SPin Spin Spin
1 - Fee in pass seat, no offs but fee complaining of a sore arse after taking off over kerbs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COhANM6AoJI mostly dry
2 - 2 offs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv9IGfmoE9k no comment about the second :S mostly dry track
3 - 1 off then black flagged for not coming in after going off. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k11_GloLJA4 wet
Camera angles are pish....
Here is a vids from the Skyline chasing, then being chased, then being passed by the Impreza.
