There is no delay for the PC version of MW2
There's prestige mode
Jason West at the MP event, said that he was dead on, on the matchmaking servers. We've been building a system on the backend called IW.NET.
You are completely reliant on IW.NET. There are no server lists. There are no dedicated servers.
You have private matches where you can customize the game
You cannot put MW2 on a dedicated server.
This is the first time we've ever done something like this and the team has huge plans for what IW.NET develops into.
Customizing your game...you have quite a few options in a private match
You're getting same game (as in Console), plus matchmaking and private match.
Server admin point-of view, NO DEDICATED SERVERS
That's that then...

This will kill the PC community if it carries on this way, no doubt about that.

I hope so, although if the match making offers lots of players per game I'll be happy, I just don't want to be running round a map with 12 players on.

Its a good system as I've seen on ps3 for pure gaming, all serious that way, rather then relaxing on a big slot server, having a laugh and working as a team.
I got to lvl 40 on both cod4 and waw on ps3, become boring and repetitive with this small slot, laggy servers

i don't know why the majority is fixated on mods and shit..
i don't care what system there is, as long as i can filter hardcore/kill-cam etc and it gives me lag free gaming.
if IW.net offers me this, i say lets give it a try.

Because its run from peoples computers which sucks, means the player amounts are very limited, will be a lot of host changing ruining the game.
100mbit dedicated server or someones pc with 50kbs upload

Not arsed personally as I don't play PC games anymore, one thing I do like about COD4 on the xbox is the player limit. The maps are tiny so why do PC servers have like 30 players on them or whatever? Shipment or Vacant with that amount of people must be a constant non-stop shitfest of air strikes and helicopters

Because there is a map editor for the PC and people make some great map that equal that of IW.
Create a map designed for 40 people then there is no problem.
And dedicated server you will have your own map list so there is not this problem.

I imagine that's the main reason they are going P2P only then, to force PC players to buy DLC maps rather than make their own new ones. Quite sneaky actually.....

they are basically saying that if you can run MW then you can run MW2 just as well.
but don't be nieve and think that the minimum specs are there to show you whats the lowest you can have for the game to run smooth and look good..
the minimum specs are there so the game will run, its recommended specs you need to look at for a performance viewpoint.
