Well ive not posted on here for a while but im pleased to announce after alot of thinking im going to be returning to enter the full 2012 season of time attack in the mighty corsa.

Theres less than 5 weeks to go and theres still loads to do on the car but it should be ready, doing bits and bobs but you shall be posted soon. Ive got pics so il upload them when i can.

Right lads heres an update on things.

First of all the reason ive not really touched the corsa since snetterton last year is due to me getting into drifting. I love it, its crazy fun and im getting more and more into it . Heres a quick pic from DWYB at santa pod the other week



Back to the little corsa then, we wernt 100% if it was the clutch or gearbox that had gone, and since i want a brand new rack for the coming year we thought it would be easier to whip the engine out. So up in the air she went and the stripping began.





Out came the engine, clutch looked all fine took the gearbox apart to find 3rd had destroyed itself Stripped out my quaife diff and looked for options.



Decided the way to go was to find a 'Decent' box rather then mess about with the old 1, found a lad local with 2, 1 was which a really good box so had both of him.



Stripped the new better box and it does look all fine, i am however going to be installing the cluster into my old box casing as i know all the mounting theads are spot on, something i had trouble with on my old corsa let.

Gunk'd down the casing and a few other bits and also the engine bay to give it a good clean.







Next i gave the manifold a shit load of coats of very high temp black to tidy it up abit.



Removed the old power steering rack, pump and cut back wiring. Tidied bits and bobs up and gave the lower chassis legs a paint up.



Inside i wanted to remove the floor carpet, its all about weight saving this year. Stripped out seats, rails, battery etc and got back to bare floor.

Bought some spare rear pads, wipers (mine are shot) and some nice ally bolts and washers ready for the rebuild.



Also i bought some fuel tank foam to prevent sloshing in the tank, gonna need alot mor ethan this though.



Next up, and ive been thinking of this for a while. Im going to remove the spare wheel well, secton of the back panel and fit a rear diffuser to be down with the time attack lads Firtsly removed rear bumper



Chopped wheel well out nice and tidy





Cut rear panel to suit ready for diffuser (not sorted 1 yet) Starting to look good, obviously eshaust isnt hung correctly but you get the idea



Thats it for now still plenty to do. Oh and i forgot to mention its less than 5 weeks untill the first round of Time Attack this year

Bit more progress then lads.

Bought a brand new eps rack, and more arden blue paint.



Painted my engine mounts orange to match my cage, arb's etc (these were day glow orange before)



Laquered the engine bay



Had my other 4 comp Mo's powdercoated



Built box up ready to go



Bought these beauties, Solid ally steering rack mounts



Also got this, ally rear diffuser. Thought it would be quicker and easier than making 1 myself, does require some tweaking to fit though.



I also had some rose jointed track rod ends come but i really wasnt happt with the set up on them so decided against that 1, sent them back.

These were off a seller from eBay. Came all the way from turkey. Bolted them up tonight and the fit really is good.
