***UPDATE 22/4/12***
Well time is ticking now so waiting for my parts to come back from the powdercoaters on monday still need to
*finish painting the bay
*lacquer the bay
*time the engine and rebuild
*get engine in ASAP
started yesterday taking the anti roll bar off and got the strengthening plates welded up
so heres how ive been getting on
Got the rusty anti roll bar off
Cleaned up the grinder
Hammerited that to match the rocker cover
Today started like this got the bumper off to start welding when the rain stopped
Strengthening plates started
Sealed the gaps in the welds
Prepped for paint
Primmed the last bits
No crusty crossmember and in primer
Thats how i left it today
Thats it know

Cheers Jed, getting less rusty each time I work on it I got the the strengthening plates off eBay off a seller called griffin autos I'll send you a link buddy and with the micra it's a piece of scrap splitters hanging off Been bumped dnt think they will mind abit of overspray might liven it up

Jed - yeah get some tackle off then mate them strengthening plates was spot on
Todi - it's getting ever so close now still got stuff to do and buy like I've even not been going to the gym because I've been busy every night
Daz - yeah I will do mate will all be worth it soon

Been really excited about this update i got my rocker cover, cam cover and L piece from the powder coaters. I got my paint matched up from a paint shop and the polar sea blue paint was for the L piece which doesnt look like the same colour as the car so im in two minds weather to re-spray it see people think

***UPDATE 29/4/12***
Update time well finally got the engine timed up had a bit of a nightmare lately i couldn't tax the car cause the MOT is nearly up so im going to move the car off the road and SORN it for now so thats getting on my nerves at the min
ohh well stop being depressing heres how ive been getting on
Marked the cams up
Take the crank pulley up and mark it
Take the tensioner off and belt
Taken the idler pulley off
Taken the backplate off and this shit head proved a task
OLD water pump out
NEW water pump and backplate back on
New idler pulley and tensioner
New belt on and turned over twice to check it was ok
Tryed my cam cover on
Rocker and wrong colour L piece
Popped my polar blue dizzy on and new breather pipe
I dont know whats happening about the car at the min with the tax business

What you doing with the rust you have cut out ? there is a big gap there now, put a plate on it and weld it all up, corsas arnt the strongest of things to start with.

looks good mate, I would take all the covers off before u fit the engine though as its so easy to scratch them when fitting

i no you wont see it but chances are if uve put a c20xe in it your going to be giving it some, them strengthening plates wont do anything with a big hole in cross member, after alot of hammer its going to crack and split them cross members are only made from shit to start with, also in a crash it will snap like fuck, if it was mine id be welding it up.
