Agreed a deal with Montpellier for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. Don't have much faith after the Remy fiasco
Praying this goes through and Taylor comes back soon
Anything to get that donkey Williamson out of the team
"Now for some items from today's Gossip Column on the BBC Sport website and Arsenal are weighing up a last-minute move for 23-year-old Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, even though Newcastle have already agreed a fee with Montpellier for the France international"

tbf I never expected us to sign him
Ludicrous wages wouldn't settle with our owners.
Mad that last year he was odds on to go to Utd for £20m+ and now he has gone to Galatasaray for 8m

I love how they can write stuff like this with absolutely no quotes or any kind of evidence to back it up.

Ferguson is in London after the Spurs game. So he MUST be sorting a deal out for Zaha

Zaha to Man Utd all but a done deal now. Wenger said this morning in presser that we were "...never in for him. Never" despite last week sayign we were interested. Fuck knows why we haven't gone for him tbh, we will be desperate for wingers in the Summer
And in even more nonsensical news, Yanga-Mbiwa is confirmed as a Newcastle player on Montpellier's website Despite us being seriously interested last Summer, him looking very good against us last year in CL, us needing a new CB as well as cover for RB and DM and him being very cheap due to beign a Bosman in 6 months Summat dodgy here thouhg as he said he was desperate to join AC Milan a few months ago and even linked with Utd so very weird that he's ended up at Newscatle... no disrespect but perhaps further scouting has led the bigger clubs to put him firmly in the M'Vila camp... linked with a host of big clubs, ends up at Rubin Kazan or Fulham etc. Time will tell

1. I thought he was only ever going to Arsenal
2. I thought he was at Palace for life

There's got to be some good Zaha quotes in this thread to bring back up if we sign him

There's no if now, there's when. I bet dickhead (AW) did a Smalling as I predicted.

Frustrated more than anything... looks a decent young, English, winger with a lot of prospects and we are going to be light in the SUmmer once Arshavin is gone and Walcott and AOC split their time between the wing and more central duties (Striker for TW and Centre mid for AOC), Ryo will be gone, I think Gervinho may be sold (fingerscrossed.gif)... would have been a popular signing but hey ho. Luke Shaw next please ( )

I never once said he was Palace for life . I've said he'll be gone by the summer and that on 1st Feb he'll be playing for Palace
Oh, and £15m gets us by for another three years debt free (if we stay in the Championship) so that'll do nicely. More than can be said for united, who are paying £15m for a massive risk .
Out of interest, what has £15m got premiership clubs recently?

£15m is nothing to United. Better to spend £15m and him turn out to be not good enough than let one of our rivals get him and him turn out to be the next Ronaldo.

If a decent Premiership club comes in for Zaha in January he is away, do not delude yourself.
Absolute rubbish
Any other club I'd agree. We're a very different club than most these days.
The £10-15m we'd get for him doesn't come close to the £110m we'd get in promotion to the premiership money. It's a no brainer really. Small chance he'll go in the summer if we're not promoted, only to be fair to the lad. He's easily premiership quality.
