250ish miles in corsa. apart from a knackered spine. no dramas.

pleasure to meet everyone. seemed to get lost and lose lots of people at one point though.

did a good bridge run 3rd gear wheelspin pop and bang as well. no witnesses though. oh well. but chav at my age tbh.

track day db friendly time

radiator and intercooler off. can see wastegate pipe there. basically just points at the floor.

start to re-shape it towards the downpipe

all tacked, ready to be tig'd up

put some new zip ties on the fan. far better than the stupid kits that come with them fans. zip ties for the win.

jdm cracked on with the tig

tack it on to the down pipe ready to remove the lot and finish the welding on it

if you notice in that pic, tried to angle the wastegate back in at the same point where the exhaust itself has a slight bend in it. thinking this would help reduce any flow issues as it pretty much points directly straight into the flow of the downpipe already.

lovely stuff. like a giant tuba.

got amongst it with some heat wrap. wear gloves.

next up was chop away for the centre box

some vband flanges tig'd onto the centre box

one centre box fitted etc

also made what jap people would call a "spoon B pipe"

this is incase i want to make it a bit louder in the future.

the jdm is getting alright at that tig stuff.

car is definitely a bit quieter. also under boost it sounds totally different. can actually hear that dump valve working, and also the air getting sucked through filter.

Zip ties moved the fan off the wastegate or is that work for a later date?

thats work for a later date. need to get some pipes welded on to extend the ones on the rad so it can sit further forward. stupid roose hoses not fitting properly is the reason why the fan and wastegate have made best of friends.

I'm gonna try getting mine re-faced, before mine goes back into a new shell, with a bit of RTV. mine leaked before I started it

its 2 tiny tiny drips with mine. leave it sitting after youve driven it, leaves like a pin head drip mark on floor. in the last 2 months i tihnk its needed about 1 litre put in to top it up. i check it once a week.

Sounds alot quieter. Jesus I'd love a go in that car, it just sounds mental Next best thing to that would be seeing it at Oulton Park smashing everything.

matthew172 was down jdm with his girlfriend jo's nova. it makes some power for an xe. crazy 180ish bhp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmEtE9Aad8o

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdTmZnF-p2s

awesome

corsa had been doing some b road slagging. dirty as yo motha.

matthew172 fetched down one of his oz wheels which are the same as i was thinking of buying off his mate. tried them on the corsa. look the part. sadly the brake calipers mean they dont fit. bugger. if they had gone on, id have been buying a set for sure. shame.

todays corsa work, not pictured involved fixing the driver side bumper dzus clip to stop it sliding down, and fixing an eye bolt for harness better for the driver side.

corsa is booked in on 4th of november for some mapping on the gate pressure map as thats what im planning on using at oulton park.

It's a shame about them wheels, they would have looked brillaint. If you want some similar/lighter then look at Braid wheels Nic, quite a few UK suppliers from what I can gather.
