It would be good for you to still go to PVS so you can get some ideas etc, thats what im doing.

Im sure youl get the car sorted and itl be awesome when its done

Better just rebuilding it then you will know you have a decent engine mate,buy another engine and you could be just buying another problem

Full rebuild top to bottom would sort it buddy,its the only way these days with XE/LET engines imo,they are just too old

why dont you stick a modded 1.6 in there, any engine you buy might end up having problems, i bet you wished you left the 1.2 init for now

Such a shame mate, as said I'd say you were better of getting it apart and re-building it - valves hitting the piston can cause tapping very loudly as I found out! Still ran whilst it was hitting

Hopefully you sort something out will be a shame not to have you there on the weekend

Rebuild is the only way for these engines these days.

Seen so many go in without work being done and gone wrong but have seen vica versa. Shame its gone this route but if you rebuild correctly and fully you should have a stronge engine. Possible get some head work done whilst being rebuilt.

This sucks tbh . You need to get there some way though dude , why don't you tax and insure lukes , I'm sure luke would enjoy having his there ? Or even get insured on your parents C for the day ?

I wouldn't And my mums and dads insurance only insure people over the age of 21.

yep, id rebuild it as well instead of finding another. its not massively expensive really considering it will be a fresher engine than another one with questionable history etc.

actually gutted dan, was really looking forward to seeing your vehicle this weekend. was on my list of things to see. true story.
