Yea, need to sand it all smooth and shiney though before we paint it so all the rust will be gone anyway. No problemo. Though, it will take me fucking ages

Yea, especially as water doesn't seem to effect it too badly. Bird shit makes it rust. A bird got into the storage shed somehow and ruined my roof

So today I needed to do a bit of fabrication to strenthen the skirts up a little bit. They crack real easy at the front because they are just cheapos from MC Rallying
A cardboard template was made to get the shape right and the bends in the right place.
I then cut the shape out of a bit of tin.
Then put the bends in the right place using the card template.
After a trail fit I decided a bit of it could be trimmed to make it a bit neater.
Modified the template to make one for the other side.
Put some etch down on it followed by some zinc primer, then a bit of Hammerite. Should stop it from rusting too quick. They will be painted the same colour as the body though as the arches are going to be painted too.
Finished article.
They are all sealed in too with sealent to prevent moisture penetration.
Finished stripping the paint off today too.
Haven't skimmed filler in ages, so thought I'd do a bit...
Need to go a bit mental tomorrow, I'm a bit scare actually I need to remove the master cylinder and all the brake lines, along with the fuel lines and carbon canister. Then the engine bay will be ready to prep for paint. All good. Also need to give the n/s a skim with filler to get the arches looking tastey. Need to fix up the front cross member too because it's a bit rusty. Will bare metal it I guess to be sure.
One sad note is my o/s chassis leg appreas to have a crack down the middle of it so will need some welding done on it. Should have taken a photo to see whats up. But basically it looks like the chassis leg is made of an onion skin of steel right? One layer appears to have rusted and cracked Will get Tom to have a look and see what he thinks...

Yes Phil, it is getting paint. But once the colour is down all the pics will be takein in black and white If anyone from Corsasport comes to have stuff done on thier car my car will be locked away in the other workshop No one sees it until Trax, or whenever I finish it
