Not much point RRing a standard xe anyway, may have a 4-1 manifold on it by then, but i'd only be seeing how much power the engine's lost over the years

Fool... its perfect opportunity to check the health of the engine and as a base to compare any modifications against.

For example when i put my GSi on the roller which was standard, it illustrated boost fluctuations which were hardly noticable on the road to me. After fitting a new boost solenoid my god the difference was amazing and I never would of known unless I had put it on the rollers. Put it back on a few months later on the same rollers and it made 12 bhp difference.

I know that. I'm just scared they go "yeah, car is fucked. But you can still drive it. NEEEXXXXXT".

Or something to that affect it will be going in for service and MOT on the 20th though

GTF Willay

Sorted soon hopefully

Standard bhp for the Golf is 180 so that was pretty close but, findind it had to find a consistent torque figure to compare that too

tbh, mine is the test bed car. 10k miles per year (average-ish), completely standard. On my 3rd run I might derestrict the air box, see if it does make any difference
