Remember the black rod bit that goes across the gear linkage, that hits on the starter when you go for Rev/1st.
May need to swap the starter for the 1.6 one, Need to find out if anybody else has had the same issue.

My issues have been with not doing a 1.8 before
Going to look into something I've thought of tomorrow.

I had a similar problem with the gear linkage but believe mine was going into 5th can't really recall was almost a year ago, i believe i just kept adjusting it and eventually it cleared.
I've put 3 of these engines in now and gets easier last one was done in a Saturday.

No amount of adjusting would solve it, You adjust the gear stick rather than the linkage on the gearbox. I've got a couple of ideas to try before changing the starter.
Luckily theres only small jobs now.

Hopefully the penultimate update from me.
Decided to stop messing around and just changed the starter, Its smaller and lighter, Chris won't care but I would
This is in neutral with the 1.8 starter, I couldn't show it in reverse/first/third as it wouldn't stay there.
1.6 left, 1.8 right...
Ground clearance, Yeah, theres a bit
Gotta finish the FPR and a few other little jobs and thats it
Edit, I forgot to say, Changing the starter solved it, Can get it into all the gears now, Its lush.
I want one.

Yeah took it for another run tonight just to be sure its ok, I'll hold judgement until chris drives it.
I've never been in a std xe corsa but on paper a XE should be quicker if both were standard.
1800 pulls hard, revs real nice. Flat fly was deffo a great shout.
