Looking nice Matthew. You managed to get the cams set roughly then? Are you using a Xe inlet and a LET exhaust of both XE?

yes i put a small paint mark on the new pullies where the timing mark is and just timed it up, im running both xe cams
i looked at using piper or sbd cams to start with but as a few ppl run xe cams and seem to think there ok i thought id do the same as i already had them, im sure specky used to have xe cams in his, will see what happens, if there no good ill just get some pipers like nicks but on comparing specs of the xe vs piper ones there very very similar

xe ones are fine both my mates use them, even though one build is solid lifters, duals, caps etc and the other is stock, both putting out decent power. mates kadett c is about 360bhp and mates corsa is about 400-410bhp but thats the one on proper ex mani/solids.
this build is cracking fair play to you

well after going through my speed chart again i decided the 4.2 fd wasnt the best choice, dont know why i fitted it tbh as at 70 mph it was going to be at 4k rpm and a 7k rpm it would only be doing 125mph, not a very good top end speed tbh
so i decided to take it back out and stick the 3.74 in out of the f20 4x4 box so it will be sitting at 3.5k rpm at 70 mph and at 7k rpm it will do 140 so alot better
stripping gears back off the 4.2 shaft
the new 3.74 item
and the cluster back together
and my arp flywheel bolts came today too

im not sure, i think sometimes you need to countersink the flywheel for the radius on the back of the arps, will see when i put it together i suppose

well ive got the engine in
and started making up the oil feed pipe for turbo
just having a mock up to see how things were going to fit in
not sure what to do about where the filter is going to sit apart from straight onto the side of the turbo which aint ideal for intake temps really, not much room
so things was looking good at this point until i trial fitted the inlet plenum and discovered the throttle body was going to foul the stock servo/mc setup so ill haveto get a pedal box setup now which i didnt really want to do tbh but never mind

shame about needing the pedal box as you will have to re-do and join most the brake lines aswell at the front of the car.
