Correction. Fan-dubby-tastic . You can have a guess when the package turns up, hopefully tomorrow. You'll love me for it though .

Ah yeah, the old carbon canister. Basically just spaced it out at the top and bottom mounting points with some washers, is a fairly easy fix tbh. The canister only needs to move a little bit for the indicator to sit flush .

So managed to get to the scrappy today and had a mooch around. Decided to finally bite the bullet and get a black dash. What a ball ache it is getting it out. Here's some pics anyway.

The car i got it from had a smashed windscreen. Glass everywhere, as you can see from the bottom pic. Was a right bitch getting it out, my hands are all cut up, but it was the only black dash in the yard so had to have it .

Might try and do something a bit different with it, may not. We'll see. Dunno when it'll be fitted either. Some dash work is commencing but don't know when that will be done either

i won't ask what you paid for it but first time round when it was unpainted, i paid £2.20 for it on ebay

i'm not keen on the looks of the irmscher grille, and i considered using just the lower part but it doesn't sit up against the bonnet all that well, with some work it could though

Haha bargain can't go wrong for that

I was thinking of using just the lower bit and trying to get it sitting nice with the bonnet, but i don't know really.

Not really an update but just a bit of recent news. Car is now in winter mode as they've started chucking salt everywhere round here so the OZ's are off and the speedlines are back on. Gave the OZ's a bit of a cleanup ready for storage and got a few pics of before and after, so here goes.

Before cleaning, can just make out all the brake dust dried onto the polished lip. Not good.

Inside of the wheel

Now some after shots, with my new Binions Vegas casino dice valve caps. Got a matching key ring too

Still need to hit the inside with some tar remover and polish the dish up with some autosol, but other than that, rather blinging for just a wipe down with some AG custom wheel cleaner. Pretty good stuff tbh.

Also tempted to paint up my Speedies, just for something a lil different but we'll see. Hopefully everything will come together over winter and will look fresh and blingin' for next show season. Hopefully get a bit of attention anyway . That's all for now folks. Possibly another update sometime soon .

Went scrappy today and managed to purchase some more bits that i needed. Black glove box and shelf, tigra dial surrounds etc. so more dash work is commencing. Actually can't wait to get it all done and fitted.

Cheers jamie just in a bit of shite mood tbh cos i was off for a weekend with my missus and that's ruined the whole thing. Me and the bro are gonna strip it down tomorrow to assess the damage and what options i have, spose we'll take it from there. I'll drop a new engine in if i have to! . I can't either, got so much to get on with. Hopefully it'll live up to your expectations dude

Sorry to hear the belt went , chances are you will have done some valves, never known one that hasn't. Every smallblock 16v ive done aint done anymore damage though, couple marks at worst on the piston crowns. Pretty straight forward to get the head off, worst bits are pipes and wires on the inlet side and same again going back together.

So me and the dad managed to make some progress today. Got the head off only to find that it's done pretty much every single valve doesn't do things by half this car . So it looks like i've gotta try and source another good head as that'd be the quicker and cheaper option. Decided also that while the car's off the road to do a few other lil things to it in the form of general cleaning of engine bay parts and tidying things up. Also tempted to blank the EGR off while everything's apart? What do people reckon? Anyway, obligatory pics of the head -

In other news though, slightly more positive. Picked these up today from maberz' old GSI. 2.0 16v ATE calipers.

Gonna give them a clean up and paint and may as well buy some new discs and pads while i'm at it. Anyone know of decent low dust dics and pads? I hate having to clean my polished dish on the OZ's after every couple of drives .

Also got these bad boys on the way
