Ba is an accident waiting to happen, good value even if he lasts one season though
Cabeye was a very astute buy
Ben Arfa, mixed season so far? Injury record?
Cisse isn't your player yet, you don't know how much he will cost if you do get him
Tiote was another clever buy too
Krul has been hanging about for a while hasn't he?
Santon, Inter reject who hasn't done all that much so far has he?
Collocini, took him a good few years to settle/develop into the CB he is
S Taylor, been there forever?
Whoever is scouting for Newcastle is doing a great job on the whole, Cabeye and Tiotie were brilliant signings.
I'm sick of talking about Andy Carroll, he'll stay and may or may not get better, meh. We could all makes those lists, Steven Gerrard cost us nothing etc blah blah.

Think Llorente would be best from that list, he's built for the premiership

QPR have agreed a deal with Sao Paolo for Henrique, kid who got player of the tournament and top scorer in the u20s world cup.
Sounds like he could be interesting

If I had to choose three (that were close to realistic):
Granero for the money being talked about would be a steal (anything around £6m-£8m), he just needs games. He's about 24 and could play a number of attacking/midfield roles for us, would be ideal for now (if we got a striker too) with Stevie playing his disciplined CM role. Doubt it'll happen though, Jose said no-one in or out this month, possible in the summer if he doesn't get games.
Zarate as a major gamble, he'd either be one of our best signings or worst. He's got so much ability but he's greedy and has been accused of being lazy in training, bit of an attitude. I still think he'd be worth a punt though, loan with option to buy would be ideal. He'd walk straight into the team if we played a 4-3-3.
The goal scorer is the most difficult to choose, Texeira/Castaignos/Lodeiro have the potential to be great players but we need someone who could do it now. I'd prefer Pappa Cisse than most of them tbh (Podolski couold be great in this league but he's not leaving in Jan, and probably staying in Germany in the summer). Llorente turned us down in last jan. Possibly Sow, but again unlikely to leave. Glad i'm not spending the money
What about you Whittie?

Oh Tom it's all in jest!
Santon is quality, just started slow and was kept out by R Taylor.

Solid player, stood out in a defence that got relegated from L1. So should do well in Scotland
Neil Lennon told the club's official website:
"I actually played against him when he was on loan at Luton for Nottingham Forest and often wondered what happened to him, I was really impressed by him."

In fairness he is just about to break into the Polish side and is a mainstay of the side on top of their national league.
Can't help but think Lennon has picked the guy because he seen him play well once in the flesh, just like Kelvin Wilson.

Na he was good, too good for us and was only 20 at the time. If he got even better then he'll do well.

Santon looks better than Enrique last few games when he's actually had a run in the team.

What part of my post came across as even slightly annoyed I'm impressed by Newcastle's business lately.

10 mil, so as long as he scores 2 goals, he will have been a better buy than andy carroll for 35mil at liverpool i guess.

I say thats a good thing! May not have set the world on fire but he clearly hasn't made any mistakes. Just going about his business on the pitch, nowt wrong with that.
