VERY good article on the plight of Arsenal, by Jamie Redknapp SPot on IMO, altho I question the Scott Parker point... never gonna happen in a million years so kinda pointless even discussing it. No-one seems fussed about our strikign options which is hilarious. WHEN van persie gets his customary 3 month injury, we are doomed, Gervinho or no Gervinho

"Many Arsenal fans have reacted angrily to David Dein's call-to-arms this morning. Some, infuriated by record ticket price increases and an absent, elusive owner, claim they have every right to criticise a manager who seems increasingly delusional, stubbornly incapable of competing in the transfer market and has won nothing for six seasons.
Some believe the game has moved on, leaving Wenger behind; that the manager is a throwback and his emphasis on young players is out of touch when competing with the petro-dollars of Man City.
Others simply point out that Dein's son, Darren, is the agent of Fabregas and Gael Clichy, politely suggesting Dein should keep his thoughts to himself. "

He had just signed a new contract at Porto, so they obviously knew he'd be going and wanted to get all they could for him, so not as big a shame as you might think
19th May - "Falcao rules out summer move after Porto's stellar season"
14th July - "Porto outflank Chelsea by agreeing two-year extension with Falcao"

Porto are very good at getting big money for their players, it's pretty much there business model. I think Falcao will do well at Atletico, they have bought well this summer.

Redknapp's transfer policy is fucking bemusing...
VDV, Modric, Huddlestone, Livermore, Sando, Pienaar, Palacios, Jenas & Kranjcar can all play central midfield, and he wants to spend more money on Lassana Diarra?!
What about a defender or a striker who hasn't played for Arsenal?!

Shite or not, he's a midfielder at the club earning decent money. Add the wingers to that lot, Bentley, Dos Santos, Bale, Lennon, Rose, Townsend. How many midfield players does he fucking want?!

i think in an ideal world he would want bentley, dos santos, palacios, jenas and kranjcar sold off. townsend and livermore cant be on anything more than 250quid a week. i think the problem is there are far more better midfielders available to improve the squad than there are defenders
