due a update here , been wanting to sort a decent box out for a long time and found the answer 4 speed dog box , these are known to take the power as a lot of the others wernt , 2 astras have ran 8.8 sec runs on these at over 1100bhp so its fine for me
first was to get a standard f18 box
wire wheel on it
a bit of cad needed to be done as a spacer was needed to fit the clutch in the box
test fitted and all good
striped another to get the fd out of that
and this is what a f18 looks like in pieces
parts i robes out this box
had some bits blasted and coated
and the cashing was blasted so cleaned it in the bath to make sure all grit was gone
new coolant
another air filter for road use
more oil
gear box oil
bearing for box
then my parts turned up
took it to beardys as i had to take some of the input shaft
and the clutch needed a little of it to
fitted clutch
and droped it of for assembly
and all done
had to have a new fitting welded on here
then took it out on the road to put some miles on it
the found a leak from the sump , was pisses of just a little as i had had every surface ground flat and used new gaskets
so back out with engine
smp acid dipped
new sealer
then back in , ended uop taking gearbox apart to be able to line clutch plates up
started it and it leaked from sump again ffs, found this
so back of again , took the girlde plate of as its leaked since the start and a lot of others dont use it
crack in sump
new ecu
data logger
gave it a clean
then for tracking
short exhaust on for mapping
loaded for mapping
left it with chris @ efi parts for a week and he wired in the new ecu and the traction control
and that take it up to the other night , when mapping we had a problem with plugs and when more than wg pressure it would miss fire didnt have any spares so brought it home and have fitted some new ones and thats sorted it so just need to get back there now for final mapping

all seams good so far , last night on the dyno water temps were at 110ish, water pipe popped of the header tank and there was no pressure in it which was quite mad not having boiling hot water poring out

was back at the dyno last night got there for 4 pm and had a few problems , managed to sort the problems by 11.30 pm, only other problem was we were wheelspinning like mad so couldent get a accurate power figure , but ran 36.6psi of boost , (last year 36psi was a little over 715bhp) so should be around the 720ish , of to pod on sunday so hopefully i can do a 9 sec run and a 150 mph terminal as thats what ive been aiming for
was a late night and didnt get to bed till 3.30am
mate got a cool pic on the dyno shooting flames

Yep all oil leaks sorted , I didn't trim the wing as that annoyed me a little with my ocd but the wide arches cover it so it's not seen

Just awesome Ben, best of luck for the weekend. Will be keeping a keen eye on updates! have you ever though of doing a more aerodynamic front end?
Like doing away with the bonnet/wings/bumper and using a one piece fibreglass/carbon elongated front?
