Hulk - currently watching again.
Still not sure why its so hated, apart from the occasional awful CGI, the whole storyboard/comic book way they do it is great. 8/10

Re-defined odd imo
Creating a weird human/animal hybrid was odd/weird.
Getting the main cast members to shag the hybrid was plain

Agreed about Splice - 5/10
Could have been better. The Ch4 intro that said fans of Cronenberg would enjoy was a let down!

Mirror Mirror - 4/10
Dialogue is strained and nobody seems to be taking what they are doing seriously. And I can't blame them.
Also eyebrows!!!

I'm still trying to think of how it could possibly been worse
......
Create weird human/animal hybrid which just so happens to be female due to the fucked up female scientist donating her DNA
Female scientist is shagging her workmate
'It' looks sooo fucking weird, birds legs and feathers with tits and a face like a warped Sinead O'Conner
The workmate shags 'it' because 'it' reminds him of her
Then 'It' shags her because it's changed sex.
Twas just plain weird all around to me

True Grit 3/10
I just don't see how that was a Cohen brothers film, or how people thought it was good.
Zero character association bad portrayal of certain traits one of the "main" stars is on screen for about 6mins and it was a really tedious story with no real ending.

You where a fan I take it?
I have like every other Cohen brothers film I've ever seen, just couldn't get on with it. Has a high score on IMDB but a lot of user reviews seem to agree with me!

Movie 43 - 2/10 I lightly laughed when the bloke gets run over by the mini and shits all over it chasing Anna Farris that was about it.

Yeah, I do love True Grit. I think it's a fantastic display in well-written dialogue and incredible character acting.
It's definitely a quirky film that challenges you in the fact that it doesn't play out the way you expect it to, but then that's what's defined the greatest Coen films for me.
No Country and Burn After Reading are great films, but it's when they take unexpected turns that they, in my mind, become epic. The same can be said about True Grit.
I guess I can see how it's somewhat of an acquired taste, but then if you're generally a Coen fan I would have thought you'd enjoy it.

Loved both no Country for Old Men and Burn after reading
Just found True Grit unremarkable in most ways.

The shawshank redemption - 9/10 haven't seen it in ages. Great film. Amazing how many stories by Stephen king are adapted into movies.
