simon - so youre saying if you put your car on the rollers and it read high bhp you would say it inaccurate?? but if it read low you would say accurate yes?
i dont think so,
if the rr is accurate as by seing the times of the cars it seems to be then why is sootys not 138 bhp then??
what car do you have?

this was done on different rollers. you can;t compare @ the wheel figures really. I have been on a few rollers and both ahve given differnet @ wheel figures but the samish fly figure

exactly sxi boy, you can't.
good gains are found from manifolds, sealed induction kits, etc...
not an open filter and decat back exhaust giving an 18bhp gain. lmfao.
venom> not at all. the @ wheels figures seem fine. i'm just saying sootys @ fly of 138bhp is innacurate.
thats assuming the car gave 120 as standard. the car was not tested as standard. how many VTS's gave 130hp when they were RR. quite a few. you could expect a peak increase of 8.5hp from a filter and decat exhaust on a cold cold day witht he bonnet fully open and cold air blowing over a cold engine

any reply to that? ha ha ha
its inaccurate
a saxo running 15.8 lmao
i feel u need to correct this to a saxi VTR
many vts' run 15s and some 14s with these mods
which reminds me - simon, u heard of a fella called craggy off ssc?? he runs same mods as sooty on vts and runs qtr's in the 14s
craggy had no interior and a exhaust manifold as well.

sootys figure @ fly isnt.
I think your losing this one Simon. sooty's figure was recorded at almost 7000rpm. the step down test will give a lot of drag from that RPM. is wheel figure may well have started to go down at this point and the drag just made look higher.

28% is too high a transmission loss figure.
nearer 20% is more accurate, or what it should be.
no it is not. thre is no set figure. it depends on the car and the gear it was done in and the RR it was run on. at star performance I have had transmission loss of 30% and a figure of 160hp, on henry' s RR I got a 20% loss. both were done in 4th gear with hot cars. star gave a lower wheel figure but both gave a fly figure between within a few hp of each other
