if doing a engine conversion, no point going 1.4, just go 1.6

As warren said go for the 1.6. You will only regret going 1.4 in the long run. As they both take the same mods but they will always have better gains on the bigger capacity engine. If insurance is an issue pootle around with the 1.0 for another year and go for it. Will be worth the wait

Thanks everyone Think the next stage once I've renewed my insurance in feb is to speak to the insurers about costs for the different engines and go from there.

Couple more little updates to mention. My number plate light had got a manky yellow colour so popped down my local vauxhall dealer yesterday and picked up a new lense. Only cost £2.40 odd but looks so much better. Excuse the filth in this pic lol

Another little mod i've been working on while im off college is spraying my dial surround. Done it in Peugeot Cossak Grey the same as the door handle surrounds. Breaks up the blackness of the dash nicely. Wont be spraying anymore interior plastics though. will look abit ott imo

Very nice car mate, you have done well!

Yeah X14XE was quite powerful from a 1.2 8v. But you might as well fit a 1.6!

Yep no mfd on mine Its got a little tray there instead. Ill have a looky underneath it later to see if the wiring is there. If it is ill get hunting for an mfd!

Pow, I fitted rev counter clocks a while back but mine doesn't have the wiring for them so it wouldn't work

Jay, Really want one of those wheels yeah! Just made a post in the help zone to find out if it will fit on mine being as it hasnt got power steering nor an airbag
