was slight play in pistons but nothing major
had new exhasut valve guides, exhasut valves and inlet guides checked
even got someone else to fit the stem seals just in case
yet still smokes on over run, brand new stem seals, all checked etc etc

no play in guides at all

got round to fitting my wideband o2 sensor again, and this time it works (was a controller fault)
got to sort out cold start, as its a bastard to start from cold
and lean off a few areas, as on light throttle is running far far to rich

NEVER use a wideband lambda on a smoking engine, it will kill it in no time! also, as oil is mixed with the exhaust gasses, you wont get a correct AFR reading.

just got to sort out the cold start as we couldn't do that,
doesnt smoke on accereation, so will it still be okay?
only doing the 2-20% throttle of cruising, to get better mpg as its running rich down low and drinking petrol
the afr is spot on full throttle, 12.5 - 1 so i no the wide band is working fine
but at 10% throttle around 4,000rpm getting 9.8 - 1 afr
and blipping the throttle theres a real lean point, which makes it hard to pull away, causing it to cut out and you have to rev it, goes down to 20 - 1 afr

Accel enrichment map is incorrect if its going lean when accelerating hard.

The map/ecu is holding the injectors open for too long

When you quickly open the throttle, air reacts to the change more quickly than fuel(its less dense), so the ecu has to compensate for that factor by adding slightly more fuel than normal to prevent the engine getting a lean mix .
