Yes my Corsa is insured as a 2.0 it has a standard engine fitted no rebuild new clutch, timing belt, water pump, conversion kit , new pads and discs (calibra v6) braided lines power cap and manifold back system (and labour) it has the back stripped out all the plastics etc in the front it has 2 buckets dash and door cards so not fully stripped

So yes its more than just a 'redtop corsa' then.

Cant quite make sense of what you have said but the way i see it is:

You had a black 1.4 and were planning on fitting a 2.0 to it in april. After you had already bought some of the parts you then looked for quotes for that car and was telling them that it was a 1.4. A few weeks later you had the 2.0 engine in that car.

Up until november you just had that one car. You then bought a 1.0ltr shell and plan on putting a 1.4 in it (guessing your old engine from the black one).

So at what point did you tell your insurance you had fitted a 2.0 to your black 1.4 that you had only just insured and did you find a quote cheaper than £1900 for the 1.4?

That's lucky being half the price as it was with the 1.4.

What's limited about it? Can you only drive it up until a certain time?

I was just making conversation with the last comment. Before that though i wanted to make sure you are insured. The last thing that i want is to be entering a road one night and see a black corsa and a civic/st/scooby racing at 110mph and crash into me and if im lucky to survive later find out that the cunt hasnt got any insurance.

ADMIN please delete this ridiculous thread. Its full of personal attacks and quite frankly what is the actual point of it.

Most useless thread I've ever read.

did i say you said it was better, no! youre the dreamer if you think the corsa is faster than the ctr. the corsas are quick yes but not quick enough to be 'faster' than my old clio and im not dreaming there because ive been up against a corsa in it, and the clios are not as quick as ctrs,

you say the ctr is a weak hatchback but the corsa is average! explain that one considering the corsa didnt come with a 2.0 from factory.

ctrs are not fast, neither are corsa xe's but in some case they are slightly quicker, maybe just down to the driver.im not disgussing how either car came from the factory am i,im comparing a corsa red top and a ctr.

if you dont beleive a red top corsa can be as quick as a ctr then thats your opinion but i know for a fact they can.

All this bullshit talk about the corsa xe against a ctr, has anyone ever owned both cars to actually compare accurately???

Well I can say I have and the FACTS are this. The corsa is a quick car and in a straight line against each other it will all depend on the driver as both are very evenly matched. The ctr WILL pull ahead eventually tho due to the higher top speed. The corsa will always "feel" faster as the engine is very torquey for a small light car and due to the nature of the K20 you need to keep it in vtec to make the car feel just as quick. There is no point what so ever rambling on about handling as we all know which is better. Please remember one is a bog standard factory car the other needs a full engine conversion to pull off the same results. Yes the corsa will be cheaper but that's only due to the fact one is a manufactors high end model the other a cheap car with a diff engine taken from a superior model. If you really wanted a fair comparison then the ctr should be put up against the corsa Vxr.
