We appear to be close to signing a lad called Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon. He's a playmaker type and i've actually watched him a couple of times against us in the two nextgen games, he (and most of his team mates) looks a proper talented technically gifted player. We've got loads of technical players in our academy/reserves, I hope we can develop our style of play to get them near the 1st team squad.
Edit think we've signed him for less than £1m, they are in need of money!

I say thats a good thing! May not have set the world on fire but he clearly hasn't made any mistakes. Just going about his business on the pitch, nowt wrong with that.

Yeah cos' Arry won't be sniffing around new players for the yids will he
We need a striker 100%, even if Carroll was playing well we'd need one. Kuyt can't play that lone striker role and we just need another option (someone who's a bit more lethal in the box). I don't think we'll be spending big money unless the right player is available (which appears unlikely). I think we were genuinely interested in Sinclair and Hoillet but Swansea want silly money and who knows what'll happen with Hoillet as his Dad's just after the most cash!
Re this Joćo Teixeira kid, not sure if he's the real deal. We're getting him as a youth prospect, unless he blows everyone away in the reserves I doubt we'll see him anywhere near the 1st team squad this season. He does look impressive in that Porto nextgen team, but literally every player on the pitch for them is technically solid and brought up on a solid philosophy to match.
