You're thinking of Vermaelen mate.
I'd punt RVP, big bucks for a guy that will be 29 in a few weeks and is due another injury or 2.

So far the business we have done:
OUT:
Drogba
Kalou
Bosingwa
IN:
Hazard
Marin
I can see a fair bit of more in's and out's happening. Many rumours about Sturridge, Essien, Malouda, Benayoun...

Are you taking the piss?

No?
Instead of signing 15 year old Barca kids he is now signing genuine international quality. Podolski in particular has been performing at the highest level for years and Giroud is a 1 in 2 striker in a good league for a generally poor side.

Be interesting how he adapts at a club like Arsenal, though. He failed big time at Bayern, poor attitude off the pitch, and didn't do it on the pitch. Sure he did well at a shit club like Cologne, but Arsenal is a big step up, not to mention adapting to a new league.
His international record is astounding, but as I say, there are reasons as to why he failed at Bayern.

We needed him last season. Farcical letting him join Arsenal on loan, utterly farcical.
I reckon he'll leave this summer.

Despite being around forever he was 21 when he joined Bayern and they never used him properly either.
But anyway, a 27 year old with 100 caps and a record such as his is a massive coup for Arsenal. He is a proper player.

Amen. There are few small concerns over what happened at bayern but as you say there were mitigating circumstances.

All press are generally cunts imo.
Alot seem to be obsessed with fucking about with us too.
Even Talksport are in on the act with the massive cunt Adrian Durham, a serial Arsenal hater, having "The Daily Arsenal" section on his show.
WTF is all that about?

I wouldn't mind Sturridge if he learns to be a bit more of a team player.

That's why he might be out the door. Not sure I can see it happening, mind. I'm sure he will stay for next season.
