Good stuff steve! But thats a 2.4km round trip I'm assuming?
That was WAY to fast to go 2.4 out and back my Wing is a f**k sight faster than my quad and I couldn't do a 4.8km round trip in 6 minutes

Fair enough I always state my waypoint distance I think my record on the quad is still sub 1km! Paranoid about 2.4ghz.
I suppose its the difference between quoting erected and flaccid lol..

Its nice being able to sling it in the back of the car without worrying about it
I'll hopefully get some test flights on the SpiroNet patch IF the weather sorts its life out, I had a fly yesterday but it was far to cold, snowy and windy.
I've got two ImmersionRC RX's setup with diversity on a tripod which fingers crossed will give me a reasonable range.

Im in the process of hacking a 1000mw booster into my radio, just waiting for a u.fl to sma cable to arrive then will post my findinds, considering sticking a patch antenna on it too but wonder if it will be a little too directional?

I think its a bit of a waste to be honest. Those boosters are very in-efficient. You wont find any hard-core FPV'ers using anything like that for a good reason.
You'd be better going UHF or even using an frSKY module.

I dunno, some guy hacked the same booster I have for mine, and was getting 2.5 miles+ range, he still ahd control too just decided to not try any further.
that was using a patch antenna and a dx7

If you're going to fly on your own and far away from any other 2.4GHz usage then go for it.. My opinion would be now you've spent the money on the Quad just invest a little more into the RC

A friend of mine makes flight cases for a living. Would just need some measurements and a template of the foam cutout

He's testing with a Go-Pro.. The arms are in shot because he's pitching like a mofo to show how good it is
Never heard of him? Nice flying
Theres a bloke doing some SICK proximity flights around a kids playground (no kids obviously), its so stable it looks like its someone running around with a camera
