I personally rate Mbiwa and I'm not sure why Wenger let him slip through after solid interest last Summer... DJourou has gone on loan to effectively garner interest for a permanent move, Squillachi is out of contract in the Summer and Miquel doesn't currently seem to be making the kind of progress we had hoped so we need a new defender... he is versatile and strong so would ahve thought it would have made sense to add him to the mix although perhpas AW thinks why sign a 4th CB when Koscielny can't even get a look in atm but hey ho... I'd point at Utd and their 4 CBs...
Diame looks pretty much a foregone conclusion insofar as I can tell, and he has the opportunity to impress in a live audition tonight. Looked good against us last time but that's all I remember. I'm not convinced he's the player we need but I do concede he brings qualities we don't currently have aside from Diaby :/ African though and I don't like us signing AFrican players due to CAF
Seems likely we will launch a last minute bid to take Villa again, and Villa himself has apparently told Vilanova he wants to leave now due to not being played much and due to Neymar's arrival in the SUmmer... this is per Guillem 'el cunto' Balague :/
We are also being linked with a £25m bid for Stefan Jovetic... a decent enough player but one I often wonder if he is so good then why is he still at Fiorentina :S
A hilarious Sulia article appeared last night linkign us with Gotze (£30m) and Hummels (£17m), cos of course, Dortmund would want to flog 2 of their best players in the same window to the same team....... I see Gotze beign a very real taregt again in future as AW adores him but he did only sign a new contract last Summer....
Think we will see Diame and maybe a striker coming in late on, but look unlikely to get a Defender or anythign else. I guess any more than 2 or 3 is not ideal in January in any case :S

Either way, this is true.
My son supports Arsenal. I asked him who his favourite player is the other night. He said RVP. So I put him on the naughty step for 5 minutes to think about it.
Tbf to him before he left RVP was his favourite player but he needs to get with the times.

He was probs Spuds as a kid then signed for United and was a United fan ever after.
