Someone at my work will.

Oh and answer to the box, it's an oil pump. Taking a chance that it will fix it.

nah, its not from pace, its just a regular old oil pump.

off to make a start on it in a bit. quite afraid this could end up being costly........release valve checking first as I've not even looked at that pmsl...............lazy fucker.

regular c20let oil pump.

so discovered the release valve was seized. after a great deal of messing around, got it out. replaced it with the new one from the new pump, and no, still no oil pressure. damn. strip sump and oil pump off tomorrow and have a look around. ah well.

on the plus side, i think the engine sounded fine.

release valve tool. useful.

remove some stuff then checked the bottom end out. seemed fine.

oil pump wasn't at all

also had to have the valve from the waste gate restored as it had deleted itself and somehow snapped the head off the valve. no idea why it had, or how long its been like that. odd.

then put it all back together with new pump.

runs, has oil pressure, light goes out, sounds fine indeed. then complete disaster. oil was dribbling down the back of the engine. various investigations seemed to suggest it was from the new oil pump area, as if the gasket wasn't right? fucker, had to take it all back to bits again, fit a different oil pump gasket (one that was leaking was new) and then got as much of it needed back together so it would run, after a few minutes of running, oil had stopped leaking. so thats sorted. then the radiator was leaking. nice. so I've got that to fix tomorrow, is part of the core, either tig it, or chem metal it hopefully, then fit the rest of the car together.

really not had a good day. although its good to know the engine seems alright anyway.

sounds shit with no exhaust on

Replicated Asian sweat shop pump on it now, gm one that failed. I've only ran it briefly say 15 minutes so really I'm still only hoping its saved. Will see when I drive it later.

doubt it will be much worse than a gm one. will do a z20let one at some point, kinda just wanted to see if engine was ok first. it makes good oil pressure tbh.

all done, all back together. just drove it home for the 25ish mile journey, seemed alright. exhaust i reckon is a lot lower than it normally is and i think its touching the anti roll bar which is odd. will have to have a look at it at work next week. had good oil pressure even when warm, gave it a little tickle through the gears seemed ok about it. booked in for mapping in a couple of weeks time.

The SBD inner gear is a much cheaper option, that I went for when mine fell apart.

What does your's rev to? My pattern part only lasted about 5k maybe.
