What compression height and weight (with rings pins and clips) are the Wossner pistons ?
Also what length rod and which make did you purchase ?

Steve, rods are standard size Saenz, been told they are running in engines reving to 10500rpm and as yet not had one break......
as for the piston weight etc! ill find out!

For a reliable high reving 1.6/1.4 16v engines a longer rod is normally used with a short compression height slipper pistons which are also light weight.
Also better spec (than is readlly available) valve springs with lighter solid buckets and valves/retainers.

not sure what to do about the head at the minute, is it worth going for bigger valves or not? got newman doing me some custom cams.....

aren't the valves big enough anyway? I always thought they were pretty much as big as they needed to be...
maybe get some thin stemmed ones?
then just get the ports as big as possible, and match the manifolds etc.

bigger ports arn't always necessary! only reason im thinking bigger vlaves is the sbd engine uses them...... and it makes good power, i intent to make good power and was wondering why they do it......
head work wont be a problem to get sorted properly
