previously i had bodged the engine onto the stand and wasnt convinced it was safe so i started by having a quick tidy up and then put the engine onto the stand properly.

i then took the flywheel off

i then gave the rear beam a lick of paint:

na just standard boot panel mate, im getting the rear doorcards though.
wanted the boot panel but looking last night, unless i remove the rear wiper then i cant have it as the motor sticks into the boot.

not sure buddy, going to finish painting the inner arches, get the pistons/crank out and then monday will go for checking.

also going to get the gearbox out of the cally and get it cleaned up.

the cally box is electric though so think i might need to sell it

i started by removing the pistons and then labelled them up.

they look all sweet actually im very happy with them

i then moved onto get the gearbox out, was an awkward job as the transfer box was joined onto it but i got there in the end

forgot to drain the box oil 1st so it went fucking everywhere

ahwel nothing a few newspapers wont sort...

i then started to clean it up with some jizzer and a wire brush but i got pissed off with it and decided to take it to the local jet wash

and alot cleaner than it was all done and back into the golf...

looks loads better than it did, just needes a little rub down and lick of paint and all will be good.

someone please tell me if i can use an elec type f28 as this is, cant be assed to paint it up etc if i need to swap it for a mech type...
